I presume noble would of tweaked it a little ie made it stronger
PMSL. Fraid not. Strap on a turbo and see what happens. The engine is at its limit verging on overstressed.

Yes but an Atom is not a VX is it?
I could easily afford to go out today and buy an Atom if I so wanted too.

The M400 engine has uprated internals IIRC, but the 'standard' 2.5 / 3.0L Duratec engines has only different pistons (so stock rods / crank). I didn't know they were particularly unreliable engine wise, but then again I've never owned one.. Possibly the propensity / temptation to 'turn up the boost' that are the cause of reliablity issues..
Then again I'm sure the durability tests weren't anywhere near what a production engine would get, given the low volumes the car was made in.
