I would say tappets and they are at the top of the engine. May be a case of not enough oil in though rather than the make :/


I brought a 5l bottle and most of that went in only a small bit left?

Just checked the bottle and theres still 1 litre left :huh: why not use it all? doesnt the sump take 5l?

The sump capacity is about 4, but you've also got filter capacity, so ideally change the oil, fill to the correct level, run the engine and top up again. However even with 4 L you should have enough oil. Esters have very different viscosity indexes compared to normal group 3 oils, so it could well but too thick at high temp. The change in base stock polarity could have also removed a lot of deposits and blocked oil pathways.

it just sounds like the engine isnt getting enough oil, forgot to mention i also had the short belt mod done at the same time! will that change anything?
