only soft top at the moment, thanks davemate, thats also a good idea about the charger - i think i will get a weather plug like from the motorbike and get that accessible but hidden from outside so that if i go out and its dead i can plug it in for a while
been ages since i "enjoyed" motoring like this - am far too used to wondering out after 2 weeks of not using the motor and jumping into a heated leather seat with auto and cruise control to sleep up the motorway somewhere.
still think its going to be worth it ;-)
Drive it enough, you will get used to driving the vx and then laugh at other cars and the things they dont need.
Glad to be of some help

i am going to check if there is a car version of these - this one is motorbike so tiny terminals for the battery. am at the bike show in late nov/early dec so hope to get one for about a fiver! theyre inside a square centimetre of size at the business end so should be able to place it nicely
£4.49 on ebay. Those eyelets should fit on the smaller nuts that branch off the main terminals of the battery, if not you can just cut them off and crimp on bigger ones.

Secret button?
Hardly secret. It's the small black button inbetween the rear number plate lights on a C/L equipped turbo. It connects an additional small back up battery in the boot to enable you to unlock the car with the fob as normal in the event of your main battery going flat.
That's the theory anyway, most will have died by now. 3kg of pointless added weight IMO , I ripped mine out.
