I think he is going to love it there, a real chance to make a difference, a bit like Schumacher at Ferrari in 1998. Joined a struggling Ferrari and made them good.

He said so in one of the interviews today, its a chance for him to help them find some direction.

Agreed though on the Mclaren front. Terrible mistake. I wonder how many heads rolled?

Next year, I don't see much changing, cars are remaining pretty much the same. If things do turn around for Mercedes it will be down to the 2014 reg changes, LH is counting on it.

Yep, I'm sure Lewis will have lost his positivity three or four races into next season, when the best he's managed is 6th or 7th on the grid and hasn't had a sniff of the podium. I'm not sure Lewis really has the engineering nous or force of character of somebody like Schumacher, to build a team around himself. Especially with Rosberg rightly demanding exactly the same level of attention.

He better bloody not. Rules are rules, that's what he'd say if it was Hamilton! Keeps championship alive if he starts from back

I lied - he was sent to the back of the grid in Spain this year (gifting pole to pastor Maldonado). But the contention was that there was insuficent fuel 1.3l for him to complete the lap and that he therefore may have been underweight. I'm sure there was another time when he got away with it though.

Not underweight, but that you just provide a minimum of 1 litre of fuel for testing.

Daily mail  suggested this: Stewards ruled the car was  underweight because of the lighter fuel load and could have given Hamilton, 27, an advantage.

Sebastian Vettel has been sent to the back of the grid for stopping on the track after qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The stewards’ report said: “It was checked whether car number 01 had enough fuel on board in order to be driven back to the pits under its own power and in addition to this that a one litre fuel sample may be taken. “The car had 850ml fuel on board which is not enough for the required one litre fuel sample.” The stewards also decided against penalising Sergio Perez for impeding Bruno Senna during Q1. The Sauber driver received a reprimand for the incident, following which both drivers progressed to Q2.

If it only had 850ml, there was no way they couldn't not penalise him with an exclusion based on the precedent when Hamilton was excluded for same reason.
