cyl #3 , although with an equal branch exhaust manifold it should not be the weakest , but it normally is.
I like your engine mount for the cambelt end

Oh, so the valve head didn't drop off by the looks of it. Looks like collet failure, possibly due to slightly incorrect seating (they are a bugger to get in!) or possibly machining tollerances of the grooves in the stem not right.
Bloody shame though. I still find it amazing how engines work at all, considering the number of parts that could fail and the high tolerances required of many of them.
Good luck Herman

Cut from a single piece of aluminum. Glad you noticed. Same for the uprights.
Those parts cut big holes in the budget , Euro-value/Kilo-weight-saving can only be justified by throwing some beauty-value into the balance. Pieces of art

Looks like the head of your engine got most of the hit. Was your engine block still usable/repairable?

Decided to go for Penske 2-way shocks, spring rates 550F/800R. (The Ohlins will move on to the Europa S.)
And will go for an experiment with active aerodynamics, DRS single wing with linear actuators for movement and simple controls from the steering wheel.

Luckily, with the service and kindness of karo at all ecotec it cost me a total of .... Wait for it....£50 to get a new engine back in and runing back to full spec lol.
You are lucky!!! Not sure how my damage will impact my budget. We'll see. I am not too worried.

Weirdest sort of air-restrictor in the intake. Reduces from 5.5 to 3.5 cm diameter.
Some repair to do at the front.
Racelogic digital adjuster
LEH turbo.
Ohlins
AP 4-pot and 308mm disk

The M32 gearbox is not my favourite. Intake and exhaust are too small in standard config. Shocks and tires/wheels/brakes can do with upgrade and I will try to get cruise control working. Once above, and some extra hp/Nm, has been resolved, it is a great car.God I love Europas!

Has anyone ever tried to take the top off?
I think underneath the padding to hide the mounting points, it's a regular hardtop.
