Has anyone ever tried to take the top off?

I think underneath the padding to hide the mounting points, it's a regular hardtop.

 

 

I heard that its a load bearing roof...

Almost completed the Europa S(E)!

 

Adjusted front clearance to12cm, R1R 205/45R16 front and R1R 245/40R18,  needed alignment.

Titanium color underneath glossy black 100% wrap.

Mild tuning:

253.8PK at 5600rpm, 418Nm at 3700rpm
 

 

All parts have been modified to 100% Europa-SE specifications or better. Engine, wheels, interior, shocks and brakes.

Flat curve from 4000rpm onwards 
 

 

Only 3 items left on the punchlist:  Cruise control not yet finished, install lightweight battery and change to 290mm AP disks with RS-14 pads (front has 308mm AP / 4-pot RS-14). Disks and battery will reduce another 7kg.  Curb weight: 982kg (measured on scales, full tank) - 7kg = 975kg

 

Starting next week, the work on the Spexige will continue. Hoping to get her back on the road in April 2014. (Spexige target <850kg >600bhp.)
