Happy New year all!

I have had the car back a couple of months now, not used it as much as i would like but then the combination of work, the weather and the twins has proved a challenge for any guilt free car time!

1st impressions of the car and changes are great, the ATS wheels rub a bit, battery needs diconecting after every run as i think there is something up with the clifford alarm, its a pretty hard ride now with the vibratechnics fitted and boy....is it loud!!

The biggest thing missing i think is the remap. Car sounds lumpy on idle and almost a misfire under slow acceleration. Plus....fuel economy is out of the window!!! i got 122 miles out of the last tank!! the trip to courtneys will need to be sooner than expected which is why i was asking if there was anywhere closer that could remap it. Car is spitting some serious flames and is popping all over the shop which i think is where the fuel is going.

I need to sort a few things out in the engine bay, just final touches really. It needs a really good interior and exterior clean and polish but not while the weather is so bad. On the lookout for a nice small interior mirror as i didnt have one fitted when the screen was replaced, need a couple of smaller numberplates as the ons on area little wornat the back and huge on the front!!

theni really need to leave it alone and stop tinkering!! Few pics below for those who didnt see them on Faceache!

Looking good but if I was you I would go Dutch. Good excuse to drive and map it yourself and time you have driven somewhere it's not going to be far off the price of getting it mapped at a company. With your battery is it maybe dead and it's struggling to hold charge? Side mounts work better if you have the front and rear as well or the inserts front and back.

Hi Jon, great to see you have it back on the road. The calibration on the ecu I gave plans with the engine was good and ran smoother from cold than the latest one I have on my new sc vx, and I think I was getting around 180 miles out of a tank on the road. I assume the calibration is flashed to the ECU so shouldn't be able to loose any updated maps? I'd make sure there isn't something else up before a trip to Courtney's, it was one of their early conversions so they will know their way around it better than anyone though if there is a problem though I suppose. I assume they kept the injector between the air filter and throttle body? Also did they blank off the boost pressure T piece on the manifold under the fuel rail that I showed them? Feel free to give me a call or I could look over it to make sure everything is as it was in my old vx if you like? If you speak to Plans again could you do me a favour and give them a nudge on them sticking to their word and send those relays back please, bit sick of hearing them say they will do it each time I call them. Cheers Dan

Be wary of driving too much with over-fueling, you wouldn't want a melted cat...

Glad to see you enjoying the car after your woes :)

Thanks everyone, is good to beback in the fold. Haggi, i know what you mean, im not sure i would have the time (or skill) to map it myself, also....the upfront cost is a struggle now im supposed to be a responsible parent:) Dan, certainly as good as you said it would be!! will PM you! Cheers for the heads up Nev, not something i want to add to the list of issues ive had just yet!! Thanks Smiley, im pretty torn....i know the colour i want to go and the wheels would go black with the respray but im actually coming round to the silver.....even with the scratched and chipped bodywork!!

The silver looks good due to contrast.

The full stormtrooper look also has it perks.

Thought i had better get my act together and keep this updated!!

So, a very random few months of those "little" jobs, total car failures and days out in the sun/rain :

Catastrophic failure :

After a day of cleaning and polishing, i thought i would leave her outside for the 1st time in years ready to use her the next day. Yeah, she thought different idea's..........clicked the alarm and after a bit of a fizz, a small pop and the clunk as my head hit my hands....it was totally dead.

No idea what happend - the alarm just gave up the ghost and immobilised everything. Next day :

Posted Image

Definitely the alarm - out it came, new one in the following week, £400 gone. Yippee

Finally fitted the HIDs ive had for about 4 years :

Posted Image

They looked great - until about a month later when they both stopped working. I just can't bring myself to take the lights out again! Yippee

Gearbox breather fitted :

Posted Image

Been on 2 months and not broken - Yippee!!!

Bought a 2nd hand centre console so i could fit my ABS switch and Fan override :

Posted Image

Posted Image

It needed a fair bit of prep - then i forgot about photo's. :)

Painted in the same black as the car, fan switch is great, ABS switch - think i may have blown it whilst soldering as it doesn't work....Yippee!!!

And celebrated this along the way :

Posted Image

Only about 3 years from when it should have happened but good to finally get there. She is however, a bit like Triggers broom these days.

Sorted the Garage Entertainment :

Posted Image

Went to help a friend of mines sort some bits at his Grans - turns out, her garden was good for an impromptu photo shoot

Not bad for an old girl....

Posted Image

Gotta be something in there worthy of the Calendar next year!! :)

Tucked up and ready for the national after a clean and polish

Posted Image

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand as usual, she was a bitch

Posted Image

A short stop, some swearing and a less than fit for purpose Arch Liner, I was on my way again

And last but not least - finally used the passenger harness!

Posted Image

A whistle stop update, National pictures in the thread and a couple of fault code Q's in another thread. still some niggles to sort, i'm also not happy with the exhaust. Far too loud for me really, the whole car just feels a bit "Fragile" which is annoying, just want to drive it properly but parts shedding or melting themselves put me on edge!!!!

Ahh it was you who was next to me at the National at the lunch time drive.

Is you car running ok? when you were revving it, it sounded like a scooby and it was missing on one of the cylinder
