afternoon all - did a search but couldnt quite find what i was after so.... as i happen to be in milton keynes later this month in the VX, possibly overnight, i thought i had a cunning plan of booking the car into thorney for the Geo that you've all recommended. wondered what the opinions were on them in general and even better for geo if anyone happens to know? i might be super lazy and get them to sling the new MMG diffuser on if we can get it down to MK for that time and they are going to let me know if they have anything knocking around in the splitter department to fit whilst its there too. the alternative would be back on track in guildford, which have been recommended already, but thats going to mean taking at least a half day holiday from work and about 90 minutes each way so not as convenient as being so close to TMS cheers, dan

Go to 20 minutes further up the road to see Steve Guglielmi in Daventry, if I were you.

thanks all - no go on TMS then - would have been convenient but not sacrificing the setup or tyres just for that! am trying to see if there is a way i can drop it at guglielmi and get to MK and back for work - going to be a challenge though so it might have to be the BoT option and some time off work which is a pain as need it all for house & another baby this year but i am sure the baby will understand daddy needs a properly set up car!!

Train from Guildford to Bracknell is pretty quick with only one change, could be an option rather than using up leave..

Yep, only geo I've ever had where the car came out with the steering wheel pointing exactly in the right direction to the minute and second, let alone degree. And that's based on geo's from TMS, Plans, Steve G, BoT and somewhere a mile away.

thanks all - looking like steve G is a good option , £150 + VAT (BoT are £130 + VAT FYI) but he has a motor i can borrow whilst its in so should be able to line it all up for the 30th without too much detour or fuss. still need to ring up monday to book it in but the option for dropping it in the morning and going back after work whilst borrowing his *something* makes it look a decent plan .org comes through yet again - thanks!

His *something* used to be an E30 325 or similar but no idea if that is still alive. Proper hooning car.

nice one, i always look forward to whatever the loaner is for a bit of a change, last time i took our xc90 in (7 seats mind you) they gave me a..... 3 door c1! needless to say the first corner i got to on an A road was a very short sharp shocking reminder of the difference in cornering at 60-ish between a decent size car with power steering and a matchbox of a city car!

Didn't geo's used to be £50? (I'm sure mine were) When did they jump up to £150?

When they stopped being called tracking/alignment and became called a 'geo'

any muppet can do the job, its more the issue of the settings they use based on their suggestions or yours.... if you supply the numbers and its crap then its your fault, if they supply the numbers and its crap then its a mix of your fault and theirs for not talking properly (and possibly them being monkeys)
