One thing I liked about track-club is they gave me a print out of all the before/after settings, so if I am happy with it I COULD just go to my local shop and say give me this... cost me £150

I've had that every time I've had a geo and paid no more than £70

I've just checked my history. The last one I had done was from Mike at the old Horizon. That was £70 inc VAT, I guess things have changed a little since then (including Horizon Motorsport)

Oh, It's just tracking and alignment. I thought they tweaked some other bits as well... So do I need to arm myself with some standard settings from on here somewhere first, or should the 'Muppet' at the tyre place have those to hand ? Happily throw a quick £50 at it. But £150 and I start thinking wait till new shocks next year etc.

Also, can we start calling it tracking/alignment again. Watch the price go down :)

Try getting KwikFit to adjust the camber for you. Even the Hunter alignment only specialist place here baulked at doing that because of the shims. Throw in setting up ride height and most of them aren't interested or start resorting to £30 per adjustment which soon brings you to the price of a "geo". Don't even ask about checking bump steer or corner weighting.

Still struggling to understand previous posts suggesting until fairly recently it used to cost £50-70 pounds but now costs £150. That's a bit more than inflation. Are we talking different amounts of work done ?M Mine had a heavily buckled wheel, so I figure a geo would be appropriate.

wheel alignment/tracking same thing, used to be mostly 2 front wheels, most mainstream garges will charge about £20-£30 for front wheel alignment, most modern vehicles have rear adjustments too, £40-£50 for 4 wheel alignment. geo incorporates caster and camber too, these tend to be charged 'per adjustment' supertracker recommend £12.50 per adjustment

After changing some bits on my VX I had the tracking done at Kwikfix and a 4 wheel alignment and two adjustments (1 front and 1 rear) it worked out at over £100... and that was just for tracking, no caster or camber adjustments.
