After 11 fantastic years it's time for me to say goodbye to lightening yellow # 35.

I left it parked for a couple of days in Islington and came back to find that some idiot taxi driver had collided with a motorbike who was then knocked into my car smashing my light and front clam. :( Credit to the motorcyclist who at least reported it and left me a note.

I took the easy route and went for a total loss; which wasn't difficult given Vauxhall's ridiculous repair quotes.

The car has some relatively minor problems besides the accident damage...and also I have just moved to London so I do not really need a car...so the decision was easy but it was still very sad to see it go.

Anyway, the salvage company have it up for auction below if anyone's looking for one to repair. I think it ends Tuesday 22nd.

If anyone on here ends up buying it, please feel free to PM me.

Otherwise, so long everyone, this has been a fantastic forum and has been a great help to me. I am really very thankful for all the advice I have had from everyone on here over the years and hope I have helped others too.

Spotted that one yesterday looks good. £800 will see that back on the road. down as not recorded? Sadly I'm not registered with copart and won't be able to register in time to buy. Would have been ideal!

It says the damage is unrecorded?

Sorry I should have posted about it earlier; was just too depressed. I'd assumed registering was instant in this day and age...but maybe you could get a mate to bid?

It seems to be unrecorded, presumably because it was a comprehensive claim on my policy. Not sure under what circumstances it gets recorded....

Insurance assessors half the time have no idea what they are talking about though!

The two that viewed my car both thought it needed a new front bumper and wings, even after me trying to explain it all comes as one piece!

Shame that one. I once had a Lotus that went to Copart and had the same trouble as i wanted to buy it back.. Registration was a bit of long drawn out affair. The other solution is to get someone who is registered to bid on your behalf. Got to be a cheapie that one.

I got quoted just over £800 + VAT from Vauxhall fairly recently, but that was through a mate of a mate, so not sure if it included any discount.

It's sad to see that they paid you off for such little damage. I am sure someone will get a bargain as t looks really nice condition. How much do you reckon it's going to get?
