Is there any difference between the turbo and the NA rear brace kit?

The spacers that fit into the hub carriers are different. N/A's and early turbos need a cylindrical spacer where the later turbos use a conical version.

are the spacers available seperately or are they intergral to the kit?

I bought a turbo kit which came with the conical spacers but mine is an early turbo so needed the N/A ones. Following a failure, Gaz from Spitfire sent me the correct ones FOC. If Spitfire are still producing the kit I have no doubt they can sell you the right kind of spacers for your car.

Are you talking about the bace bar or the toe links? I don't hink there is a difference in the brace bar.

Sorry I thought you were talking about the toe link kit. AFAIK the brace bar is the same for both versions. VXR's are late Turbos BTW thumbsup

I don't think they are. Most VXRs were registered in 04 and VXTs were built until Aug 2005.

And you have to have the toe link kit in order for the brace bar to fit?

Are you removing parts from your NA to the VXR ? Doesn't the brace bar have fitting problems with some exhausts

possibly the other way mark. As the VXR is a road car for me and the NA track it seems more fitting to have the brace bar on the NA

Hi There We are currently working closely with Liam at MMG to develop a new brace assembly for the VX range that we are confident will fit a wider range of cars. As you may know the original model took a path across the subframe that came quite close to the exhaust/CAT and as a result of that in some cases it would not fit at all. During the development of the blade ARB with cornering force it became clear during data loggging that the increase in chassis performance with the brace fitted was quite marked. With this in mind and after the contact with MMG who was already convinced about it's benefits we decided to take another look and work with Liam to carry out a complete re-design. Prototype components as well as the brace itself are already being machined for this new model. The new assembly is simpler and incorperates fittings for the new Custom bearings we now use (with unprecedented sucess). Where possible we have kept existing components to keep the costs as low as possible. The new brace will only be available through MMG, If you are interested, please let Liam know. I believe he wants a few cars for fitting trials in the near future and may offer a discount as a reward for banging about under your car for hours :) You will need to contact him directly though for details. VXRed if you could let me know what uprights you have (tapered or recess), intended usage, and a little history about the kit itself please, I can advise you what your options are, by the sound of it you possibly have most of the parts you need Spitfire.engineering@gmail.com Thanks :) Gaz

Will the new brace require spitfire toe links or will it work with any toe links?

No idea I'm afraid as I do not know what the specification of the other toe links are! :) You will need to talk to Liam but I think we agreed that plan A is to support current customers by offering the kit first to those with a Spitfire kit who wanted the original brace but who couldn't fit it because of the reasons above. Next is to offer the kit to new customers who want the whole setup especially when this includes the cornering Force ARB's as we wanted more VX series cars on track that could compete at higher levels. Possibly it will be available therafter as a stand alone component. Not easy to say at the moment. :)

Make sure it fits with minimal diffuser spacing too.

Diffuser was OK, and on the car at Liam's last week both the CAT and exhaust were clear. But that was just one car! :)
