I've done my hardtop with it, don 't look to bad almost like the soft top finish. Can't say the same for my dash! not happy with that.

Dip ordered cant wait to sort my scruffy v, badge, and also thinking of doing the side air intakes. Did you mask off the grill when you did your v?

I dipped my vee the front griffin, the rear vx220 and the windscreen surround. all great finish and i masked the windscreen surround and the front. Just because its got a wide spread and you can get black dots everywhere. its not a massive problem if you do because it can be just rubbed off but its a bit of a pain

Just had a (very) quick look at this and looks like you can get clear matte but not clear gloss...? Shame as a possible cheap alternative to amourfend etc.. if you could get it in a clear gloss finish....

Looks like you could use this over the matt clear?

I'm not sure it would be suitable TBH. It would be extremely difficult to get the right finish of done from a can

That looks really good - and a cheap and easy solution for making the petrol cap black.

However, any ideas as to how durable it is with petrol spills?

I might give this a whirl on my V and windscreen surround. Is it difficult to apply, i.e. can you get a reasonable finish from a can? The V would be less obvious but the windscreen surround is in plain sight?! Just a case of masking off and spraying, not much prep work by the looks of it?

It's a good point Graeme, i'm pretty careful anyway. If you believe the blurb and testimonials it's very durable, I watched a video on Youtube of a dipped car going through a car wash and all was well. I do have my doubts and certainly won't be hitting it hard with a pressure washer or giving it a good rub with a mit. However, it's so cheap and easy to do if it does chip, peel, tear re doing is no big deal.

How many cans would you need to do the front V and turbo spoiler?

Have a look at the galley, I put some pictures up of my car the other day. I've done the V, the badge and the windscreen surround and all very good finish IMO

Don't spill, petrol dissolves the plastidip. Talking from experience

I've thought about doing the turbo spoiler and i know the effects will be minimal but the analist (:D) in me says the surface is very rough and draggy once dipped!

I'm not sure whether a rough finish will have any negative affect on aerodynamics? A golf ball is pitted to give extra distance after all.

The golf ball does that to build up a "cushion" of air that it then uses to slip through the surrounding air. In all honesty any aerodynamic impact is going to be minuscule. Less difference than getting a splash of mud on it! From what I've seen it also provides a smooth finish!
