That dosn't look bad. Were they ok to fit? and did it effect the abs? Sorry for the thread hi jack Kart59.

They looked a shed load better than the 195/40's and were simple to fit. The abs was better than the lower profile 40s and I went back to leaving mine switched on.

No worries, all of the pictures of my fronts in this thread are of 195/40s

That's good then as I'm going up to 45s. Originally the abs was crap so hopefully ill see some improvement

Just before clam going back on

Close up of the tidied up wishbones:

Standard heat shield back on, this has been modified (hit with hammer) so i can use it with the tullet manifold, also put a heat sleve around the boot release cable so i can route that differently to make it a little easier/quicker removing the clam.

Posted Image

Clam back on, debadged, (will take vx220 badge off when it goes in for paint) the little white circles are filler, the clam was split and repaired before, and the repair wasnt great so ive drilled holes where there were hairline cracks on the inside, grinded it back and replaced with new fiber glass.Should be nice and solid now.

Posted Image

As it is now. Covered up the filler with a vinyl. it should be back on the road soon so i dont want to put it in a paintshop for a week or so, just want to get it out and drive the thing again. Just waiting on some suspension to arrive, when that gets here ill drive it for a few weeks and get a track day in then get it sprayed.

Posted Image

I then tested out how much head room with a helmet i had after fitting the new seat. To be honest i was quite impressed at this as i was not expecting so much clearnace.

Time to get this going again! The car has spent the last year in the garage after an outing at Mallory Park where the car handled fantasticliy, however it does feel like its lacking power, obviously as its na at the moment lol.

ive been driving around in my RS this year had my fun with it know its time to move on. Planning on selling the RS and getting the VX out on the road again, deffinitley missed it!

Absolutely fantastic thread  thumbsup I look forward to reading more! It certainly helped my picture a few things ahead of my refresh this winter. The list of jobs keeps growing... I'm now thinking that cleaning up the rear subframe is a must.

thanks Gary, yea i think the subframe is a must now given the age of our cars, plus gives you perfect opportunity to inspect and tidy up everything in the process.

Odometer reading: 71,000

At the same time as the above I also fitted

Mintex 1155 pads and Castrol SRF racing brake fluid

Posted Image

Fitted a new header tank as the old one was going yellow and hard, still had plenty of life left in it but as its a cheap and easy swap it would be rude not to. Also fitted egr cheater and blanking plate. Should have done this ages ago!

Posted Image

Header tank on:

Then egr cheater wired in and blank fitted
Posted Image

Took my Larini off and standard back box put back on. (Think mine was the quietest at the National at Snetterton!)

Posted Image

As im looking for a Miltek for when this all gets bolted on!

Between header tank and rad so it's pulling the warm water out of the header tank.

as the car sits now, these were at a trackday at snetterton earlier in the year:

car performed faultlessly all day, in this set up of stage 2 (259bhp) and the r888r to me the car is "over tyred" meaning more grip than power from a purely fun point of view. (in the dry obviously) So current plan is to enjoy the car for the next 12 months or so getting out to plenty of trackdays and then after that look at a new engine/ charger set up for some serious power upgrades!
