Much more complicated than that. You also need to disconnect the wiring plug from the side of the controller.

Don't forget opening the bonnet also.

Luckily I removed both clams and the rad surround when I fitted mine so it wasn't too big a job. :P

Mine came off an Elise 111R / Exige, but I'm not sure if it was ever 'coded' (I didn't fit it)

Would if have required coding? Would I know if it hadn't been done?

 

It feels absolutely spot on, and the difference between this and the ABS on my old VX is night and day, so I'm not really sure. I've never really questioned it until now.

 

Apologies for hijacking the thread, but I thought this might be a more useful place to ask this question

If it's a used one that has come off a car (as opposed to brand new and never fitted) then it's already been activated, fits straight on and works. It's only if the unit is factory fresh that it needs the car plugging in to the Lotus Tech2 thingy to have the controller coded/activated.
