Piece of carbon wrap stuck over the whole area with holes punched out for the lights you still want to see sounds the easiest option
About 10 mins work
Hardly going to pass mot though is it mate....? This has already been covered in the thread

Ah sorry thought you were not bothered about an mot at the mo but didn't want to bodge it in case you want to go back to road spec in future and need an mot Don't think making the airbag lights appear to work will fool many mot testers if its obvious the airbags ain't there
Just put the standard wheel back in for MOTs so it looks like the bag is there and "operational" that should fool the MOT tester.
Did this work Jimmy?

Suggest you read the MOT manual as JohnTurbo said in a different thread. What you are doing is pointless. Just disconnect them. From Johns post: JohnTurbo Yesterday, 10:17 PM Also from the book:- Modified Vehicles Where a vehicle has been extensively modified or converted, certain Reasons for Rejection, such as for components missing where fitted as standard should not be applied, for example: a car converted for rally use (i.e. rear seats removed and fitted with a roll cage and full harness seat belts etc.) may have been converted so as not to require a brake servo, power steering or airbags a car converted to a stretch limousine may no longer be fitted with curtain airbags or functional Electronic Stability Control.
Man, everyone's a smart ass.... I did read it, but thanks for your suggestion I also agreed with the comments later in the thread where someone said (something along the lines of) that you couldn't rely on that long terms as someone would probably change that at some point.
Either way if someone wants to ditch their abs and get it through mot then this will do the trick.
If someone whants to ditch their airbag and do not want the annoying light this will do the trick.
Not for everyone but not pointless so don't be so dismissive. It's a solution to something that anoyed me and it's covered two things people have moaned about for years.
Next up - a solution to reduce the travel of the starter button

I'm not emulating a system I'm negating an error code so that an mot guy doesn't fail the car. I'm not going to say abs is present....
Without an abs alarm there will be no issue. If there IS an abs alarm it's a fail whether there is an abs controller or not. Not sure why you're still picking holes at it, it works, if people want to ditch the abs they can now do so without mot worries.

So to be clear Jimmy, you have no ABS but you have managed to get the ABS light to light up and then go out again as it would if ABS was fitted? If so, is it possible to explain to a non electrician how to do this....easy step by step guide. My light is on all the time and I need to sort it before the the MOT next month.Sorry, I think we are at cross purposes, I do agree!
It was the mimicking of the ABS tell tale light of a working ABS system when the system is removed that I would not advise.

No probs.
Dash off.
Disconnect plug going into back of stack
Chop the Black cable with the thin yellow stripe about 15cm from the plug. Be careful to get the right one as a few are similar. You can trace it by looking at the plug and it should be going into B12 (there are numbers but you have to look close!).
Now disregard the end of the cable that disappears into the car.
Now join the 15cm length that goes to the plug to the brown cable with the yellow stripe (goes into A10) using one of those little splice type crimps. I'll put a pic up later of the crimp type.
Plug it back into the stack
Jobs a good un

Any chance you can take a photo of what the wires look like once done?
Sounds strange but I've got a couple of crimps in mine already that have disconnected themselves and since then my ABS has been on and off, i'm wondering if this has been done on mine.......
Good solution btw Jimmy

lol, finally the job is getting some love
Unfortunately the dash is back on so too late but if you tell me the colours of the cables that are loose I can identify them for you and advise

Jimmy, do you have one of those electonic thingemebobs that interprets the wheel sensor into an output for the speedo? Or are you running without a speedo?

Cheers Jimmy. Nice simple discription, just what I need. If I cant fix the ABS before the MOT I'll try this.

Yup Yup
Servo is currently off and sat in my 'surplus bits' tub with the abs controller and a ton of other bits and bobs Just getting a new plunger turned down and then I'm putting it all back together.
AP 4pots front, AP 2pots rear, braided lines, abs delete, servo delete...... Hope it works
