There's no doubt you have a much more flexible ECU there. Never been any question about that. But, you may well have exactly the same map as you do now (or maybe even better) having just made one visit to Courtenay's and paid for 2 hours of dyno time (even if you'd been there all day). As it is, you've got give or take the best map for your setup which assuming the power run graphs are to be believed is very similar numbers (actually identical to what I had on my initial Stage 2 high compression conversion) as you'd have got from Courtenay's after two or three maps.

Sorry but that's bollox could a CMS map be the same power? Yes However from a technical point of view it could never be as good as it can't detect the inlet air temperature, therefore it's can't calculate the AFR correctly and therefore get the fuelling right. with the CMS map it's bodged to make it work by dumping in fuel with the OBD tuner it's map with full control of the fuelling and for me that's what your paying for.

On WOT they probably make similar power as this part is where most of the CMS mapping can be done with dyno runs. It is the non WOT mapping where OBD will wipe the floor with the other Tooners.

Looking at the OBD-Tuner website, I think he describes my engine pretty accurately :

 

"more fuel at wide open throttle, it will also lead to bad starting, poor warming up, poor throttle response and poor weather adaption. The result is often a calibration which is good for maximum power, but will not run nice in most other circumstances"
