I have a car that maps part throttle better than it ever has done, i dont get the pops and bangs that i did when i was at 262 on the CMS map and it seems to run cooler.

That's hardly scientific though. You didn't run OBDTuner with your M62 to make a valid Courtenay/Klassen vs OBDTuner comparison and comparing a Harrop + OBDTuner setup against your old setup doesn't really show anything other than bigger, (specifically designed to be) more efficient blower blows cooler.

It would be very interestig to compare mine to Lees, as he has a very similar setup (bigger exhaust) to compare a CMS map and mine. And, yes I do agree as I am aware that the Harrop is now happy in its operatinal threshold, as apposed to the M62 being out of it quite some way at the top end. Although I do believe that Lee wasnt totally happy with his and is looking to go downt he route of this software. Nick will probably be able to give the best comparison to before and after??

and by my comment about "it is mine and I can play with it if I want to", I meant that I have the software that I am able to tweak and play with (different maps etc) that I could never do with a map from CMS.

Plenty others did, it´s just the UK that´s 2 years behind on using this technology :P

Good to see the software is getting out there and working well. Brave doing WOT runs on the Harrop not using wide band! The part throttle mapping can be easily be further refined with just general driving up to 4000 rpm.

We covered this before in the thread in the Tuning section. No you really don't need one. You're a very small subset of a small subset of arguably a small subset and there are probably more worthy causes ahead of you. Next thing we know, we'll have subforums for stage 1 turdos, stage 1 SC's (okay scrub stage 1 SC, that'll only be one car), then stage 2 turdos and another for stage 2 SC's ad infinitum. If, over the next two years, everyone in the world is running OBDTuner, maybe it'll be worth a sub-forum. It's only generating the interest it is because it's a new fangled shiny thing and probably warrants shifting out of here now. :beat: If you wan't to share maps, create a thread in Tuning, or Projects or even in the Useful Threads section specifically for sharing them. If you do, please post full specs of the map/car configuration in the post body for ease of use of those who might download them. Probably also a disclaimer that if some fcuknugget kills their engine by uploading something non-suitable, it's their own tough doodoo. If that thread has some mileage in it, we can even make it a sticky thread for you, so you can find it again easily.

So from overpriced engine destroying weird stuff

It's still over priced. We should get a 50% discount as our cars over here are only worth 50% of what they are over on your side. :P

It's saved me money within Two months of having it, And didn't leave me stuck with my first setup. I think the best comparison to CMS and this software would be mine and John turbo We are are both running 3.1 pulley Only real difference is in the exhaust. I have standard manifold and 2.5 tullet back box John has a fancy manifold and turbo back box

It would of cost me thousands to do what I have done with the software at CMS Infact I no I would be still on the original map because of the cost to go back down there and there services

Exactly. You're only doing what you're doing now, because you can. So it's not as clear cut as "you're saving loads of money".

I do feel as if I have a better product and more flexible And what's most important to me I have more control of what's going on

I get that. But for it to be cheaper or save you money, it can only really be counted if you modify your car and then "remap" it as such rather than tweaking the map as,you're currently doing. If it was £400-500 then I'd consider it a little more, but at £750 plus postage costs for an ecu to holland etc, its not a cheap "upgrade" when I have a perfectly happy stg2 build.

There's no doubt you have a much more flexible ECU there. Never been any question about that. thumbsup But, you may well have exactly the same map as you do now (or maybe even better) having just made one visit to Courtenay's and paid for 2 hours of dyno time (even if you'd been there all day). As it is, you've got give or take the best map for your setup which assuming the power run graphs are to be believed is very similar numbers (actually identical to what I had on my initial Stage 2 high compression conversion) as you'd have got from Courtenay's after two or three maps.

I'm not convinced but i dont think its worth the argument But if any of you who are going to the national would like ago of my car to see what you think you are welcome to swap cars for a little run
