I believe you can do this with the HP-Tuners / LSJ ECU route as the LSJ engine comes as standard with a boost control solenoid (attached to the port we leave open on the bypass actuator I think - Exmantaa will know), so it could be retrofitted, but then I guess you have no control over it with the Z22SE ECU...

Some info at the bottom of this page:

Ahh, didn't know the LSJ had one of those as standard. Might keep my eye open for one to go on this B207. thumbsup

'Might' have a spare one on the way with a few other bits. If so, I'll give you a shout.

can the egr control output drive a boost solenoid, or do you just want a wet setting switch in the cabin

as mentioned egr will be wideband.

this was one of the things i had to give up for the dutch software. my origina plan was a stand alone ecu with traction control built in and a 9 stage switchable map

low power - full tc, limited slip, off

medium power - full tc, limited, off

full fat - full tc, limited off

with an in cabin switch, but it will now be a case of apply a map with a laptop, and have a control for the TC.

Ask Peter if he could develop this in version 3.0 in the software

the biggest difference would be an android map uploading bit of software, it would be great to do it from my phone.

not sure I would trust a wireless connection to upload to the ecu , I don't know the E-15 details about its bootloader, but you could easily brick it

interesting stuff... All looks quite sensible...

would need to play with it a bit and some of the wording in the manual is less than transparent (translation issues I guess?), but seems to cover most of the basis.

Boost control with a SC is best done using the by-pass valve to bleed off boost, this is how the OEM's do it, closing the throttle is hard to do accurately and also screws with the efficiency of the supercharger (read generates more heat), you can get two port actuators for the by-pass to achieve this (got one on Jamies car to control the by-pass as well as the wastegate)

I bought one of those mini laptops specificly for this. (amazing battery time)

All obd based software (opcom etc), and obd tuner on it, and it´s sort of my speedster laptop.

I have a garage laptop too. A small Lenovo ThinkPad with a mahoosive extended battery, fully stocked with all sorts of OBD software, logging software, VAG-COM, OBDTuner, TIS, EPC, Bentley service manuals (not Bentley as in the car), Saab WIS and EPC. Oh and the all important TV card for motorsport when in the garage. :D

If the maps could be stored on the ECU and made switchable then the Android app could be used to switch between the maps.

Easier said than done. Not sure there's enough physical memory to have multiple maps and Peter's firmware would probably need a big re-write to enable it, if there is space. I've got four different maps on my Audi and can switch between them on the fly by using a standard button on one of the stalks. The benefits of every control being linked together via CAN and an über powerful modern ECU, I guess. And before you ask, no, I've never switched between them since the first day.

never got that, why do people need multi-maps?

variable boost I can understand, but why several maps?

No idea myself. It was a free upgrade when I had it mapped. There's a lower power than standard manky fuel/economy option, a high octane +40bhp option and a so-called race option (which is probably just all the safeties removed in favour of max boooost). Oh and the all important, no power 3000rpm valet or service mode. Bit stupid really, if I took the car in for service and it was running with that kind of power level, they'd have a panic attack and have stripped the engine down before I could answer their inevitable phone call. OOoh and an immobilised mode. No idea how that works though.

If you can afford dutch software, you are certainly in the range to get a mini laptop if needed. (compared to what owners chasing power ditch into these cars moneywise anyway)

Some people might not be going 100% all the time and might want to drive more Eco Like redbull F1 teams do somtimes

Or have a detuned version for when it's raining so that you don't stack it.

The reason for the multi maps is that if i go to a track day, or let somone borrow the car i can give it to them in a safe mode and, as mentioned, if it is wet then it will keep me a bit safer.

if you look at the maths of the software £750; for me (and i am sure that otehrs will agree), a drive to CMS for about 5 hours plus and back, the rollin road cost stopping for fuel, food etc etc. if i did this twice i have already paid (probably) for the software. plus it is mine and I can play with it if i want to. I bet if you took the average trip to CMS it would be £300 for a setup that is a best fit with the parameters available. I have a car that maps part throttle better than it ever has done, i dont get the pops and bangs that i did when i was at 262 on the CMS map and it seems to run cooler.
