2007 07MY Lotus Europa S 225bhp in Metallic Starlight Black with black leather interior. MOT until May 2013, and sold with 12 months tax. One previous owner with documented history. Excellent condition that belies its age and miles. 2.0l Turbocharged Z20LER engine, 6 Speed Manual Gearbox, Service History, Touring Pack, Full Black Leather Probax Seats, Fully Operational Air Conditioning, Push Button Start, Electric Windows, Full Cobra Thatcham Approved Alarm with 2 Fobs, Remote Central Locking, both keys. A rare and desirable car that is easier to live with on a day to day basis than an Elise/Exige due to lower sills and larger door apertures. Great to drive and I shall be quite sad to see it go.

Manufactured on 19/09/2006, it was the third of 13 UK ‘07MY Europa in Starlight Black with black leather interior, out of an overall total build of 114 UK Europa’s built, making this car quite a rare Lotus. The original dealer was Stratstone in Leicester, who sold it to the previous owner 06/06/2007. Service/MOT history as follows:

12/07/2007 – 1025 miles – first service at Stratstone Leicester (book not stamped)

21/12/2007 – 3595 miles – rework for heater lights at Stratstone Leicester

28/02/2008 – 6446 miles – rework wiper adjustment

23/07/2008 – 8867 miles – service at Stratstone Leicester (book not stamped)

08/01/2009 – 12547 miles – replacement of both headlamps and heater actuator

24/08/2009 – 17399 miles – service at Independent garage

12/06/2010 – 26059 miles – MOT & service at Independent garage (book not stamped)

29/04/2011 – 36420 miles – service at Evans Halshaw

09/05/2011 – 36429 miles – MOT at Evans Halshaw

12/08/2011 – 36542 miles – I purchased the car. Cambelt replaced and new disks and pads all round Stratstone Stourbridge

02/08/2011 – 40520 miles – replacement turbocharger under warranty

09/09/2011 – 38122 miles – service at Thorney Motorsport

21/03/2012 – 44527 miles – replacement rear shock absorbers under warranty at Stratstone

09/05/2012 – 47500 miles – MOT at Guglielmi Motorsport

20/06/2012 – 49525 miles – replacement immobiliser under warranty, service at Stratstone Stourbridge

23/11/2012 – 58436 miles – replacement of Heater resistor pack and service at Stratstone Leicester

04/05/2013 – 63367 miles – MOT

In amongst this I have looked after the car with inter service oil & filter changes. I have had the front clam and side sills professionally resprayed and fitted with a full Ventureshield paint protection film kit fitted by Bodygaurd UK, so there are no stonechips. I have also had all four alloy wheels professionally refurbished by the OE manufacturer (Rimstock) so there is absolutely no kerbing, corrosion or blistering on the wheels. Many other parts renewed as necessary, (even if not really needed!).

Variations to the original specification:

Larini Sports Silencer (gives a much improved exhaust note over the original silencer without being intrusive or droning at motorway speeds) – original available

225bhp Lotus ECU upgrade (gives a useful 28bhp hike over the standard 197bhp to give the same performance as the SE model without the road tax penalty).

Exige 4 channel ABS controller (much better calibration of the ABS than the standard VX220 derived OE unit, preventing ‘ice mode’)

Desirable Start button fitted.

Replacement of the dire Blaupunkt head unit with a Philips DAB/USB/SD/Bluetooth/Radio.

It was a car that I have always wanted to own, having previously had an Elise, couple of Elan M100’s, and a VX220 Turbo, that has the best bits of all of them. A change of lifestyle means a very reluctant sale of a great car that wants for nothing. I also have a genuine set of Lotus Europa S Service Notes that will tell you how to carry out just about anything on the car, plus a few other bits and bobs available by negotiation. Please feel free to PM or phone 07021516660 with any questions you may have.

Only 456 built with 48 being SE specification , aka Lotus type 121

But only 114 for the UK market.

On a slight tangent, normally Lotus part numbers have a letter, then type number prefix - as the Europa S/SE is a type 121, why do the Europa specific part numbers have 124 in the prefix?

Very nice.. Like others, the Europa has grown on me to become one of the best looking Lotuses in recent years. Saw my first one in the flesh recently (bright orange with black TD's) and it looks even better...

GLWS!

Part-exchange for a decent SC VX220? :P

Personally I have never seen or heard of this car. Is it more of a touring car?

It was Lotus's take on a GT car, but sold in low volumes as it never really captured the imagination at the time and probably wasn't that well marketed.

As with all things, only now is it being fully appreciated.

Good luck with the sale....good cars they be...

I'm sure this car was originally meant to be a Proton hence lack of visual DNA to other loti at the time (inc. Quick facelift of front and rear to be more lotus)
