:grouphug:

Thanks for all the feedback, just need to clean it and take some more detailed photos. I have had quite a bit of interest already, but strangely all from Europe...

And it is true, Ken has sat in this car...

Well it is a kind of VXT, but it is just as much a kind of Elise/Exige but then different from them all anyway!

Anyway, some pictures from when the sun came out briefly...

Such a lovely car

Isn't the engine in this car the whole reason why the VX220 was born ?????

I thought that Lotus got GM to develope the engine for this and as part of the deal

the VX was born ??

I may have that wrong but it  definatly has a Z20LER in it.

Correction
http://www.autocar.c...es-lotus-europa

Looks good IMO anyway so good luck with sale.

The proton version looks pretty good actualy, I was expecting to hate it when I followed the link.

It did surprise me that the europa wasnt as popular as I expected, it is a great looking car and just a bit more practical as an every day.

GLWTS

I don't think so. I thought the reason the VX220 was developed was because Lotus wanted to make the Elise S2 but needed significant investment to improve the production beforehand, particularly things like ISO9001 certification which GM helped Lotus get.

I suspect the only reason the Europa was built was a low cost option for GM to back out of the commitment of more VX220s by providing engines for lotus badged cars instead.

Not realistically interested in buying at the moment but:

    [*]is the heater any good?
    [*]is the aircon any good?
[*]Is the sound system any good?
[*]Is it any more spacious inside than a VX?
    [/list]

Couldn't deal with my VX as my only car especially in winter but I'm thinking if the heater is half decent and it has a good sound setup I could be tempted to use a Europa every day...

Well good news! Heater actually pushes out decent amount of heat! Resistor pack for heater speed prone to failure, and due to it being an early incarnation with the resistors underneath the heater unit. Aircon pretty good too and has not let me down, although other Europa's have had issues with either the condenser or compressor. Sound system pretty much the same as VX, alpine speakers and Blaupunkt head unit as standard, but easily upgradable. Additional sound deadening over VX helps, as does the coupe top. Internally, other than the lower sills higher roof line, and longer doors, the internal space is the same as the VX. Managed to use this all year round on the standard Bridgestones, but would seriously think about steel wheels, and winter tyres for another winter like the last one.

thumbsup . Cheers for that. Shame about the stereo, I've got used to a really good (comparatively) setup in my shed so I'd like to match it. Probably could if I got an active sub to sort the bass out actually.
