sh*t.

Really sorry to see that Zuber.

It looks like the damage is limited to the front clam and door, the sill looks untouched., and so does the light. It might not be as bad as it looks to sort out.

Second hand door - £100, aftermarket clam - around £1000. Spray paint around £400. Total repair cost £1500 if you buy it back and repair. Depending on how much they pay out and if they let you buy it back, you might not have lost any money.

That is nasty!

Should just need a clam and a door hopefully! What were they saying? I bet the other car is hardly damaged thumbsdown

:grouphug:

Edit: I thought it was just all bodywork but noticed that the impact has burst your tyre too, so there may be some other damage :(

Good point. Zuber, if you have a chance inspect the wishbones connected to that wheel, and the chassis mounting points. The chassis mounting point are damaged don't even try to buy the car back. Each damaged wishbone will add £50-150 to the repair cost depending how you source them.

That's rotten luck. How can a bright yellow car not be seen? One of the reasons I bought mine was because I thought a little yellow car would be easier to see. However, twice now I've had somebody pull out in front of me but fortunately I've been able to stop in time. But you have no chance if they drive into the side of your car.

Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.

Fortunately, there was a witness and the 3rd party insurer has already got in touch and accepted liability. Now we 'negotiate'...

Looking at it, it does look like the wheel wasn't touched, so no suspension/chassis damage. There is hope. again, there is damage to the wheel. Quick look, looks like it is just the wheel, but will need to take a close look at the suspension and chassis to make sure it is all ok...

Ah that's not a pretty sight!

Sorry to see your vx in this state Zuber.

Most definitely get a look at the front suspension, mainly the wishbone mounting points but check everything else as well for damage as that will quickly add cost. Any damage to that front light? Looks like it's managed to survive intact?

Fingers crossed for a good (given whats happened) outcome.

Front light has some scratches, and lense is splitting away, but not 'broken'.

Sorry to see that zub But on the negative side you have had bugger all luck with that car I would be tempted to negotiate a good price and let the insurance have it Look for a replacement with the cash you get ?
