Sorry to see that zub But on the negative side you have had bugger all luck with that car I would be tempted to negotiate a good price and let the insurance have it Look for a replacement with the cash you get ?
I wouldn't say that. It's not the best car to have to park on a busy street and so I have to just live with the occasional minor bump. And I've learned my lesson about approaching kerbs very slowly...
On the other hand, had some good fun and the Highland Hoon was amazing...
sh*t mate, sorry to see that!! What was the other guys excuse....?
I think she was too busy concentrating on waiting for the car coming the opposite direction to go past. She says she looked my way but didn't see me because car is low and other cars were parked etc. which is possible.
But I saw her for quite some time, (so she should have seen me). Just didn't expect her to start pulling out as I went past...

I'm wondering, given time it is likely to take to get a new clam, get the car repaired etc. And the fact that I need a car for work, Maybe it makes more sense to buy back and sell on as is and pick up a ready one ?
What could I realistically expect for this as it is ?
Will need New Clam, Door, Light looks like it could be cleaned up. New Alloy and possibly a wishbone, though it seems to look ok without getting the wheel off to take a look...
It was actually quite a low speed crash. Doesn't take much does it...
Other car :

IME at low speeds, when the tyre pops it usually takes alot of the energy out and sort of saves the suspension. Ofcourse not always but fingers crossed for no suspension damage, looks quite straight forward a repair if the suspension arms are ok

Sorry to see what has happened. Hope you get it sorted quickly. There are some cretins on the road!!
That's a bit harsh. To be fair, they reported it to the insurers straight away and there were no disputing fault etc.
Just a classic case of looking right see there are no cars their then looking left, waiting for a car to pass and not looking right again or leaving it too late and panicking...
Unfortunately, It happens...
I save cretin for the ones that drive without insurance and yet drive like they own the road rather than being super careful. And then run off/shrug there shoulders after an accident... Or the ones that lie and try and twist it to blame the other side...

The value they offer you will be around £6,500 - £7,000 and the buy back salvage price will be around £1,800 to £2,200 at a guess. Its not the purpose to gain 'Benefit' from an insurance company but you most likely will..... (I inadvertently did)

Insurer has asked me to get a repair quote from the Dealer Drive Vauxhall. This should be interesting...

Check Blue cycle or Copart breaker/auctioneers in May/June when I was looking for purchase options for a VX, damaged similar looking to yours were being picked up for 4-5k. Just throwing it out there; I decided it was swings & roundabouts. Repair costs, buy back against buying a complete runner?

Value is probably 2750-3250 in that state.
I'd expect the buyback to be 1500-1800.

I'd go down the write off/buyback route. Buy it from the insurance company for £1500 and stick it on ebay for 5k.
