One comment. If i were replacing my engine mounts again I would go for vibra technics instead, they're a bit more expensive but the design means they cannot completely pull out of the mount.

Arrgh...I've ordered OEM ones from Auto Vaux now! ...but they are like 5x the price...

Are the Powerflex inserts worth having?

Are the Powerflex inserts worth having?

Fitted one set to mine (on the front mount) 6 years ago and the side mounts haven't let me down since.

:yeahthat:  definitely worth having, a pretty quick job once you have the undertrays off and should increase pick up a little.

A caveat is slightly increase cabin viration.  But the misses will like that thumbsup

As said, I could tell which one of mine had gone by where the noise was coming from. I only changed that one too, not the other side

bad move imho.   Usually (100% of cars I've changed mounts on) if one side has failed to the level of making noise then the other side will have failed in some manner too. Given how cheap they are and how easy the job is, just do both at the same time.
Unless a previous owner has only changed one before 😃

The above had just been done on mine before I bought it, the second failed only a few thousand miles later. Put two new ones in and its worth putting in a poly insert in the front or back.  I put one in front and back, it vibrates loads on tick over. Whilst your in there Giles check your ancillary tensioner, vocky noticed mine was about to fail and replaced that too.

Another vote for the inserts. I've not had to change my side mounts for the last few years since fitting them and I love chavy starts and burning rubber yo.
