So, did you find a half decent direct swap for the standard tweeters?  This is what I'm after, but only because my higher frequency hearing is shot!

Off topic but did you take your photo there of your blue VX via a iPhone, if so what is the app or what is the camera effect called?

I believe the effect is called tiltshift.  Lots of sites out there that convert any photo.  www.tiltshiftmaker.com

I haven't got round to it yet but tbh I'm undecided wether to change them to coaxial speakers or just stick with tweeters

Tweeters are stand alone small speakers specifically for low frequency signals. Co axial speakers normally comprise two or three speakers in one. A larger for low frequency / low mid frequency and a smaller for high mid frequency / high frequency.

Separating out into individual speakers with decent crossover filter will normally result in better sound quality than a coaxial speaker. But this is a vx, so sound quality isn't that important.

There is a bit of thread resurrection going on here but this is the thread I found when searching for new speakers. I was looking at replacing my tired old pioneer speakers and agree with most that mega expensive speakers are a bit of a waste of money in a VX220. At high speed my ears are bleeding due to wind noise so quality sounding music doesn't really seem that important.

These are on special offer at the moment in halfords:

They fit perfectly and sound fantastic considering the price. Just thought I would share this good bit of info with my fellow VX'ers. :grouphug:
