Wow, I'd love to stay at the Marina bay Sands it looks amazing! Did you stay at the hotel, do you think we could get on the terrace for a drink or is it just for hotel guests? I've heard the atmosphere is just epic, I'm so excited! I've done Monza, spa and Silverstone but I think Singapore will offer something completely different! I did see a weekend ticket that had 3 different grandstands over the 3 days, sounds like a good idea. A little different from Silverstone where you can sit where ever during Friday / Saturday I guess. What is access like to the music arena? My sister wants to watch the entertainment but doesn't want to watch the race, is it possible to just buy a ticket for that? Sorry for hijacking this thread!
you must get to Monaco during the F1 weekend , it just takes a bit of planning well in advance.
Andy - I did not stay at Marina Bay but you can get up there for a drink although I'd expect you'd be lucky to walk in for a drink whilst the track is live. Spend a few days before the race weekend and you'll be able to see the track being built (try and do a lap in a taxi ) and illuminated etc from places you may not be able to get in at over the weekend.
Access to the music arena is included with GP tickets - I was told you couldn't get tickets just for the music.
Even though both are traditional EU races, I found Monza and Spa last year were both very different atmospheres to each other (outside of race time), let alone to Singa. Singa is radically different and I'm looking forward to seeing how it compares with Monaco this year where I'll also be in the run up to the track going live so should see what the party atmosphere is like outside of work .
Any way, back to it.. bring on the weekend

Is Red Bull Racing stretching the rules again?
It appears that Red Bull are circumventing the rules once again in their search for speed for their troubled car.
This morning at the RAAF Air Force base in Victoria (around two and half hours from Melbourne) a ‘filming’ day had been organised which had an F/A-18 Hornet drag racing the Red Bull car. This in itself is not a problem – it’s straight line running after all.
An observer told TJ13, “it was a great event and the noise of both powerplants was awesome!”
However after the actual filming was completed, and the jet removed, the Red Bull car would appear periodically and complete a number of laps using the runways and taxiways as a form of track.

Renault , Go at throttle up
"The main issues we had with power units was due to the nature of how we control the engine and the boost pressure, and how we manage knock basically - which is the step to gain some more performance from this kind of engine," he said.

The numbers i've heard (from a very good source) is that Mercedes are 4/10th of a second per lap quicker than Williams under race simulation, so as much as I'd love to Hamilton get all sandy, he'll probably be pretty smug by the end of the race.

I've also put all my bets on, Hamilton for pole and the win, also had a few quid on Alonso for the win in case hamilton has a DNF.
Think, thanks for all the advice etc. sounds like you have an epic job travelling and watching all the GP's! I'm thinking about this ticket for Singapore:
- Combination Package A - Padang (Fri), Bay (Sat), Turn 1 (Sun)
That comes in at £431 which seems quite reasonable, what do you think?

If they're off a Red Bull, there's probably a skip full of them in Milton Keynes.
Not just Red Bull. There's a whole warehouse full of them at Mercedes. They were developing them so fast they were machining billet as it was quicker.
