I've been reading about ancient Greek and Roman gods. It's quite entertaining, but rediculous. Even so they took it seriously and built lots of temples and statues, made sacrifices and prayed.

 

Proves to me that some people just want to pray - no matter how rediculous the religion is.

 

Zeus is as good a god as any. At least he's not this modern benevolent god that still gives bone cancer to children.

People who believe in gods do so based on their family culture or where they were born. Who is to say a christian god is the real God or an Islamic one? Buddah? Or some greek gods? Sorry you're not allowed to worship other gods right? Because the god will strike you down....or be really upset you lessen the grip and power of what ever religious business you have participated in for years more like. It's all bollocks and we as a species of mammal need to grow the fk up. Religion belongs to history.

. Can't prove your correct but what I will say with 100% certainty is if Zuber and Casino had different parents they would most definitely have different Gods that's a fact. So what does that tell you ? If Zuber had been brought up with my parents and wanted a God he would be eating pork and having a drink and vice versa for Casino. ..the thread is "do you believe in a God"........I probably do more than I dont cos whats the point......and my god attempts to make us all good....for what ever reason some dont make it...as for allowing bad....I believe everyone has their date stamped on them from the start..just some of us dont know....some finish early some finish late.....pick of the lottery...

There is a lot I agree with in that. Do I follow a religion... No. Do I wonder if there is something a little more to my/our/their existence...yep. Do I believe in a God? Maybe... But probably not anything that remotely matches anything anyone has yet described. I mean, in science we are now hunting for the 'God particle'. That could be an interesting u-turn.

Bad things is a little understatement, let me just re write your list List God gives us unimaginable pain and suffering and horrendous evil, he fills the world with devastating viruses, devastating natural disasters, cancer and horrors we can't imagine. From babies and little children to the old he loves to watch them suffer in agony and die. God confuses religious people. God can't show his ID as he's not about any more even if he ever was. Most religions are the ones our parents or ethnic upbringing gave us, like I say you and Zuber would have different religions had we swapped you at birth so who had the right parents who told you about the right Religion ? You both assume your religion is correct, gues what, one of you is wrong so that tells me one of you has wasted your life following a religion that's not true. I am assuming one is Christian and one Muslim.

Sooooo why is it all Gods fault? Funny how no one seems to blame GOd for anything good in their lives. Funny how everyone (I think) wants to go to Gods heaven. Is heaven a place where only good happens? How can only good exist if God doesn't? No order there's so much badness in the world cause according to you either God doesn't exist or He can't be arsed to offer any help. Who's behind all the good things in your lives?
