PCV improves the oil condition and is required by law as vapours can only be vented through aftertreatment devices.
You're probably not going to see much of a difference in normal use, providing you change the oil frequently (not venting blow by will lead to nitration induced oil thickening and faster acid build up). You'll also see greater oil use as blocking the PCV tends to eject oil through the cam and you'll get that smell.
