Following on from my last thread for the gear surrounds (http://www.vx220.org...centre-console/) I have received new prices on smaller batches of surrounds.

I have already made one of these as a prototype which I fitted to my car. These are manufactured to suit my console, which is the leather type. Its should be the same fit to a plastic console, but I havnt tested it.

I then enlisted the help of another VX owner to do a road test one of these for me.

'I have got and fitted the gate made by Paul, I have done a good few miles with it for a thorough test ,,, not only (IMO) does it look so awesome it is also a perfect fit.

I have been after one of these gates for a while now and read a bit about what other vx owners have said about finding them a bit of a fiddle to get into gear sometimes and the movement of the old leg on the console moving the gate and misaligning it.
I can truthfully say I have not once had this problem with this gate and it looks so good. If you like the look of these gates you would be silly not to buy one!'

Stainless steel fixings are included. Fitting may require the removal of the centre console. Its advisable to first locate the gate and drill the fixing holes while the console is still fitted in the car to make sure the gear stick is centred in the gate.

Prices will change depending on the number of people interested. The more I have made, the cheaper the laser cutting cost. Any savings will be passed onto you guys.

1-5 items £24.50 + £1.50 P&P

6-15 items £20 + £1.50 P&P

16+ (I will have to check with the laser cutters)

I Plan to get these ordered with the laser cutters sometime within the next 2 weeks. Sometime they take 2 weeks to complete the ordered depending on their workload. Then I'll get them finished off and they should be ready by the end of Feb at the latest.

I think the leather console is just the plastic one with a leather cover. Shape should be the same, but I've not tested it. You could be the first.

I'm happy to be the guinea pig then. It will be going on a carbon fibre console that is a copy of the plastic console, so they should be the same shape. I think the gate will look very good on carbon.
