Hi all. I had an eml for the above and subsequently got the part replaced with a proper vauxhall sensor yet the eml still persists. Any thoughts? In the engine bay there is a 'free' sensor connector next to the one that is being used, any ideas what this is for? It is located on the passenger rear wheel arch almost immediately next to the one that is being used? Fickle things these vx's!

Theres this option. http://www.vx220.org...69-p0141/page-2 Or just checking continuity from the ecu to the sensor plug.

Pin 1 of the lambda plug is connected to pin 52 of the ecu plug x22 Pin 2 of the lambda plug is connected to pin 51 of the ecu plug x22 Pin 3 of the lambda plug is connected to pin 44 of the ecu plug x22 Pin 4 of the lambda plug should have 12v i think.

Thanks both, there is no evidence of exhaust blowing, car drives absolutely fine, makes me feel slightly more confident that it's a simple fix.

If there is a crack its almost always on the manifold. You have to take the heat shelf off to have a look though.
This was mine.

A crack in the manifold shouldn't trigger a P0141 error though. It should/would trigger an emissions related fault code but not a P0141 which only relates to the heater function in the lambda.

I did think that as it just looks for a difference between the 2 sensors. Your manifold is probably cracked anyway though, they all are :D mine didnt throw up a code :)

heater circuit = fcuked wiring/fuse/sensor.

Even replacement OEM sensors can be shite.

There is another solution coming soon... I did some soldering

Hope this works. On the left of the photo is where the sensor is currently connected and on the right is not used. Any ideas what this is?

Indded, we dont want a thermal event :)

CPC is the cheapest place I've found to get a proper 15R 25+W aluminium resistor (without buying lots of the buggers)

My cheater from o2sim came with a ceramic wire wound resistor. Twas a 20W20ΩJ Never tried touching it to know how hot it got but played it safe and mounted it to the Nimbus heatshield around my CC header tank. Just in case.

15-20R (maybe 25 at a push) seems to be the norm. much outside each end starts to casue spurious errors.

You may have done what I did and plugged back into the wrong plug. I kept resetting my ecu and the light would go out and stay out for about 20miles or 30mins, then would come back one. I ended up changing both lambdas, checking ecu plug connections, and lots of other checks, even some of the info on the forums was wrong. Ended up feeling a right div when I realised I'd been plugging into wrong plug....doh!

You can usually tell because one is dirty inside and the other is clean.

thats the easiest way to tell

Also think mine are opposite threads

they are the same and it's easy to connect to the wrong one.
