I typed exactly the same reply earlier and decided against it for fear of being called grumpy.

Magic Aero who did the Driftworks AE86 should be able to do a half decent job i would have thought.

Some pics of their work in the following thread from post #566 on.

http://www.driftwork...project-29.html

Perfect thanks Simon.

I will get in touch with them and see how much they want for the job. I don't imagine it will be cheap!

I'm not grumpy, its just that, that vx looks absolutely hideous to me. A perfectly nice example has been ruined. the front clam looks at though it has had botox with its 'smoothed' lines, the wheels are a caricature, the arch extensions look unfinished and agricutural in their executions and the spoiler isn't to my taste either.

It might have been that the objective was indeed to make an angry looking vx all i was doing was quiestioning that motive as the results, to me at least are an utter failure of taste and good sense.

Crikey lad. Thanks for your opinion but I only posted the photo of mine in this thread to help this chap with his question. Its my car. Built for me and my own dubious tastes. If I was looking for opinions or approval, Id have bought some TDs, Polish, And built it a shed.

Come on James, it's one thing to be honest but there's no need to go overboard, especially when it wasn't an opinions thread about the car.

Kudos to you Ash for maintaining your dignity though the negative comments. I doubt anyone else would have  thumbsup

Thanks for your opinion but I only posted the photo of mine in this thread to help this chap with his question.

Seems perfectly acceptable to me to comment in a thread where someone asked about wheel arch extensions and I think you have helped the OP with his question. So far on the strength of the replies, the majority think its a rather bad idea. That gives the OP a chance to gauge the general consensus. He mght decide that in light of the negative feedback on the examples presented that consideration of wheels arch extensions is no longer an option. On the other hand the strength of rejection miight just make him decide to do it. Some people like to go against the majority view and that is of course pefectly ok. That is where my question of whether the objective of an angry vx is good or not.

I'm sorry if it offends you Asheey, but its just my view and I didn't expect you to give any consideration to it. Our tastes are clearly different.

Exactly. I didn't expect you to be after approvals given that your vx is so unique. Consequently, it will have strong views in favour and strong views from people who object of which I am one. My vx disapears in a crowd of VXs as it looks virtually the same as any other black vx with black wheels. I would expect that that would not be to your taste and I'm happy to accept that.

Thats exactly the point though isn't it? TDs, OZs all look the same (well, they don't but for the sake of this argument they do :P). Not very individual and don't provokde much of a reaction.

My reaction is strong because of the scale of departure from how it should look in my view. Equally some (somewhere) will LOVE! that car, in the way it just isn't possible to LOVE one will the same bits as everyone else.

It will have extreme reactions each way because it is extreme in its butchery. I don't really understand why everyone thinks thats surprising.

Back on topic. I prefere the *bolt on* look. The sort of mold on blend in look just gives me nightmares of 90s Max power hot hatches, Bad paint and cracked filler.
