I'm not a huge fan of Asheeys arches but I think they look 100 times better now painted. I wouldn't say I don't like them, I'd just worry about messing around with the staggered factory wheel setup and offsets that much.
It does look pretty mean though! and times have changed on here lately, it's not so much a sin to try something different as when I first joined and got a 3 page slating for fitting alfa side repeaters lol

I think most mods on cars looks good as long as those contribute to performance. I love the Gumpert and other cars that are considered ugly by many. If wheel arches fit the purpose, then they are ok to me. Great job. If smoothening and painting adds weight, don't do it. I dislike the optical 'tuning' with polished chrome and rediculously lowered to the ground suspensoin with often an additional focus on soundsystem overkill. Function above looks!
