I've had this problem. I found that having a couple of laps of gentle braking gets the disks and pads warmed up evenly does help. I'm afraid that once you get uneven pad deposits on the disks it's very difficult to shift and I only found skimming was the answer. What I am surprised at is that you are getting this problem with 1144's. I only started getting the problem when I changed to Pagid RS14's and it's only on the front. You could try swopping disks front to back and see if the problem persists.

Looks like reflection of the caliper.

Yea reflection of caliper by looks of it.
I was thinking along the same lines as Techie but kind of dismissed it due to coming back after replacing discs.... if it is warped discs something is clearly causing this and needs to be addressed first. Sticking caliper probably port of call numero uno.

Yes, the plan is to pull the whole thing to bits, replace bearings, disks and pads, clean everything, new pins and bolts.
It occurred to me earlier that within 3 miles of leaving BoT I had to do an emergency stop from about 70, that I completely forgot about. That prob did not help being on brand new disks...

Did they bed them in for you?

Ben went for a drive for a 5 min while I finished my tea...
I was trying to take it easy (as instructed), then a black BMW X5 (did you know they own the road?) decided to cut me up joining the A2 or whatever it is in Gilford

70mph down to nothing? I'd have thought that alone could deposit enough to cause this if they were only just starting to be bedded in. Pretty unlucky to have the same issue twice though...
