Im not interested in entering the ta..or bothered about proving who is faster either. I was just using myself as an example to point out i dont think scuffs would be able to win club in a 200ish vx as easy as he made out.

as a one off lap , i think its not favourable to a low torque , small bhp setup , different over 20 laps

Well if the rough numbers are a basis:

150bhp Elise  - 1.56.6

Time attack best - Chris Bennett Impreza - 1.53.1

270bhp Lotus 2-11 - 1.49.3

Somewhere in the middle of 150bhp and 270bhp should be right. However Scuffers should be quicker in the same 2-11 as that was an amateur driver.

All need to be rough numbers give or take a second as times will be different day to day.

Was interested in times so had a look on TSL. Only circuit layout that is the same is Cadwell. Both 2013 race/final times.     A basic 150bhp Lotus Elise Trophy car on Avon ZZR's did a 1.39.153 with an non-pro driver. The fastest club class time attack car was Phil Reed in an 800bhp Evo he did a 1.35.060. Darron did a 1.47.863.   So I guess that maby with 200bhp, a wing and splitter you could win with a good driver.

Interesting. At blyton park (with a 13st passenger) my pb was a 1'11.5ish, with a theoretical 1'10.8. I really dont think i am all that good a driver either but id be hard pressed to think that scuffs could beat me in a 200bhp vx. If we was to enter the ta in the same class, me in mine and scuffs in a 200ish bhp vx i couldnt see him beating me. No doubt he is a better driver but i cant see his extra skill being enough to actually overcome the power difference of mine. If we ask that theoretical question .. would scuffs in a 200ish bhp vx be able to beat randall in his europa chances are the answers would be no. Agree ? Randall in his europa did a 1'10.5 @ blyton.

pick a cct I have seen/been to!

Croft. Chris, do you have data? Simon, you were here last year and this year so must have some data?

Oh, can I please be the pit bitch when this happens?

if we are talking Oulton, then looking back to 2001 (yes, that long ago!) I was doing 1:54.137 with an S1 Elise with 177Hp (flywheel) on A032R tyres

Last time there was with jamie's car doing a 1:40.8

Like for like car I agree. But in TA with 800+hp cars its doesn't help against the Lotus/VX chassis.

not got much actual data from croft other than from TA and the vids from the Nationals..

my guess is that if you gave me your car, I would expect to be doing 1:27's possible better

with Jamie's, I did a 1:23 before it broke  :ffs:

with Geary's NA could do 1:39's (and probably better without (fat) passenger and driving properly)

edit - typo's!

Love to at some point (when you don't break it!  :P )

all I have is the AIM data from Jamie's car and the TA timesheets (SMART?)

you did a 1:30.294 (Qually) and a 1:30.463 in the final

Darron did a 1:38.293 (Qually) 1:37.087 final
