Anything containing the phrase 'Thorney suggested' puts me off a little.

I'd of thought a boost controller would help to feed the boost in gradually as this is what it does on my friends/family's car

throttle demand from the pedal is adjusted for rpm , this can be adjusted

Motronic needs exactly three things to calculate LOAD.

signal from the air meter, normalized to "Q" airflow in kg/hr , engine rpm "n" , and injector size constant "Ki"

LOAD aka Tl = Q / (n * Ki)

LOAD is the theoretical Injector Time Open needed to reach stoich (Lambda= 1) , assuming the engine flow is linear, which it isn't, hence there are fueling tables which are used as multiplicative corrections to LOAD to reach the actual Ti.

two different approaches to pedal / rpm , demand map ( both have 50% pedal line shown )

Dave i havent got a Garrett so cant answer your original question. If you do decide to do Cadwell in october then you can drive mine and see what you think. I have driven Darrons car plenty of times and think the only real time i have an issue with his car on track compared to mine is when its wet. A small tight circuit in poor weather condition will really show up the power delivery but otherwise i don't think its a big deal.

The best people to ask about the garrett are probably the guy with the crazy powered VXR (i always forget his name) or Nev as both of them ran it on oem ecu. Im sure others do but no one i'm aware of and no one seems to be forth coming in this thread 3 pages later.

I presume you mean PeteVXR29. I don't know about now, but sometime ago talking to him at Snett he had similar issues. His car didn't last long at Zandervoort or Dijon due to misfire and then clutch.
