Hi Guys

Am after a front splitter, really want a robin ( like rocking horse sh*t) but have found a universal splitter on Ebay which is a flat sheet, however the dimensions are great. can get up to 70mm forward of front of clam.

My question is, as the front clam has a curve from underbelly to front, what is the best way to infill this smoothly. I have thought to try to find some rubber strip i.e fit splitter under clam then get some strip and cut until it fills the gap between the front of the clam and the top of the splitter, then remove splitter and bond it to it. Anyone know where to find such stuff ?!??

I want the splitter to be removable if necessary yet don't want a gap just a smooth flat area so that it is aerodynamic and actually has some if only a little downforce.

Any other ideas most appreciated !!

Please Help !!!

This is becoming a real obsession !!

Jester666 I'm considering same mod (& also had a butchers at universal fleabay splitters). Can you link us to the one you've found please? Also you asked (above) about "the black bit between the clam and splitter on Mike's time attack car"..... Whilst I don't know what this component is, it looks VERY similar to a front 'mini splitter' from a Seat Leon. I fitted one. Dead easy and just a few quid on fleabay (thinks there's a tread about them on where somewhere, must be or I wouldn't have done it - was some time ago). Cheers, Ben.

Have you thought about using the standard turbo splitters as a basis to fill the gap, if not the seat leon one.

The Cupra one mentioned by Martin is available from the main stealers and is only around £35. It's certainly cheaper than any on eBay! Which is weird!

I made some corner splitters out of foamalux board a few weeks back. I put a thread up on how I did it "diy corner splitter" gives you an idea on how to fill the gap using filler

An old thread.... But MBES2 can you please tell me where you got those turnbuckle bolts from? I'm considering a similar splitter and fixing method, but the only turnbuckle's with nut and bolt ends I can find are £20 each (bit steep when chandlers sell handsome non-nut-and-bolt equivalents for about £3 each). Cheers in advance. Ben.

PS: If anyone's got a photo of the 'steel cable through the towing eye' fixing solution for splitter, please post. Thanks.
