I'm doing corner splitters only that are mounted onto the end parts of the seat leon splitter.

The splitter part will be thin steel (only done in strong card at this time) bolted to the seat leon part then all held on to the car using plastic scrivets so that should it ever find itself (again) in the gravel it will get pulled off easily.

I think I would rather it pulled of rather than risking the clam

That's why mine will be smaller than say the Robin one and only attach via scrivets to the clam. Had a couple seat leon's ripped off in the past and no damage so far.

If a hole does get bigger, its easy to sort and out of sight anyway.

I'm just doing subtle side splitters only as have ground clearance problems.

Lee has steel all over his car as do others and I have steel winglets at the rear I was trying to match up to.

Agree there is a knife like element to it though?! Will look into other possible materials. Any ideas, something strong, 2-3mm, easy to cut and bend.

Just fit some rubber edge trim to the leading edge. Good enough to get through the SVA pedestrian tests.

Pretty sure carbon fibre would act6 as a pretty good cutting tool as well and yet is very popular. Want shapr lines as not a fan of the plywood look.

Yeah, its one I made a while ago.

You ever going to make anymore?

Hadn't planned on it since the mould for the base element went to the tip a few years ago!  :D

I guess you'll have to make stuey an offer he can't refuse.

An old thread.... But MBES2 can you please tell me where you got those turnbuckle bolts from? I'm considering a similar splitter and fixing method, but the only turnbuckle's with nut and bolt ends I can find are £20 each

I can make you up a set of custom length carbon fibre ones if you want? I used a fairly long one as a spoiler support but they would work just as well for a splitter. I think Leevx2.2 has some fitted.

I have these on my wing and love them. I used a tap washer between the metalwork and car. I have a black car so not noticeable but adds as a slight cushion.

You might want to consider a pair of these Martin (bit better than stiff card, and no hassle of building your own): http://www.ebay.co.u...74476224&_rdc=1 Before deciding to go for a big splitter I considered same solution as you're considering. By 'eyeballing' it I recon these might be the ticket for you? Plus they're a good price and seller seems like a top lad who 'may' tweak-to--fit. Listing on fleabay has ended but 'contract seller' (he got back to me). Let us know how you get on. Cheers. Benzola.

Note how Lees has a metal splitter, waaaay bigger than anything I plan. No rubber edging just a great big air gathering scythe!
