Old thread... with a few vx owners now moved to the exige v6 Prices have remained stable

Out of interest though have any of those old vx owners bought a roadster? Of those that have bought the coupe, have you unbolted the roof/done the soft top conversion?
I have fitted conversion to mine, roof on only in winter

Whereas I'm trying desperately not to remove the roof. It's the only reason the vx ever goes out.

I bought mine as the ridiculous price of the new ones almost made mine seem a bargain. Its going to take quite a while before they get in the mid 30's I believe.

I too now have the dilemma of when to take the roof off as it looks better with it on (and we have aircon) but have always liked the roof off on the VX.

Yes the Elise S2, Exige V6 and VX are all the same. Cost a fortune new around £1,400 but you can buy used from £300. tut

About £950 + VAT for a roof, bars & bag, currently 4 weeks for delivery, then you need some grommets which are a few quid. Not that I've looked in to it you understand.

I think that's the standard lotus price for any soft top. They always seems to price things extremely high for parts. Imagine how expensive it is to build one :S

🙄 Don't lose the soft top you've already got Nev! Although they have a bit more insulation these days (apparently). VX parts always use to be stupid money too, original wiper blades for example

The soft top came with the car and is still in the bag never used. The bag is quite smart, not just a cloth tube but a proper handles bag and the roof it self, does seem better quality than then vx one and has a black soft liner on it from standard.
