What a shame. Looks an amazing car. Maybe you u could've asked Craig at Murray Lotus in Edinburgh to have had a look at it for you. He's brilliant and would've given you straight unbiased appraisal of the car. He did a pre-purchase for me on my NA. Can't recommend Craig highly enough.

So they've made money from the driving experiences and want to add 2k to their buying price...supply & demand on these cars. No reason to keep your £50 that I can see and bad press on here will follow the sale. I was going to look at it myself then it disappeared glad they didn't return my call.

When you're searching for any car it's such a shame people don't give full truths when they're selling, I personally think traders are more likely to hide something? A VX you do hope they're going to be more truthful, especially due to this being a small community. But unfortunately we don't use it throughly until it's too late imho. I believe it's because we have a fear of being gazumped? Good luck on the search but I'd personally open your boundaries slightly, I set out for either a yellow VX or red one, then I was on my way to see a Lime Green one, until I was about 10 miles & stopped in a lay-by as I was having second thoughts. Then received a phone call from a guy in Birmingham from a phone call I'd made earlier in the month and I ended up buying a Rab Red NA & haven't looked back?

I opened my boundaries after travelling to Reading, ok not exactly Kent to Scotland, but still a fair way to look for a car? The seller swore the car was mint & I wouldn't be disappointed. It will stay with me for ever, I turned up at what looked like a big barn & in the court yard was 911's, Lotus & Ferrari's. I was in car heaven, he pulled a tarp off this Yellow VX my chin dropped it looked stunning, he fired it up & I put my hand in my pocket for my money! He drove it out of the barn, I sat in it & was in love, I then went around the car & noticed 1 side of the car looked odd, I could get my hand in the side of the drivers side window when it was closed, when I approached the seller & told him what I'd noticed he just smirked. B45t4rd! All that way for nowt. Keep looking.

That was one possibility, other panels not lining up could mean clam needs lining up? When you sell a car, you make it look the best it can, if it needs washing you wash it, if it needs vacuuming it gets vac'd. Like wise with the body work, a car should be sold on it's quality not on opinion! Just like the car I'm assuming is yours for sale, it looks good in every picture, it appears you have some pride in the car & want that to show through, which should demand the value you believe? And yes, if I'd have seen a VX as good as that when I was buying I'd have changed my boundaries on that too. It is too easy to say it just needs this, if it is "just" then the seller should do it! Imho!😉

You may be better getting a nice well sorted VXT...........I too was after the VXR version, but due to the rarity I decided to go for a decent Stage 2 Modded Turbo with suspension mods as well.

Also the Car had to be Black so I was also limiting my choices.....

Got one off a member on here a couple of years ago.....Not fussed about it not being a VXR.....

Shame to here number 47 has come to this,It was an excellent car when I owned it,but since then it looks like people have only bought it to resell and make money and not bought it to appreciate what a great looked after no expense spared car it is/once was.

Don't worry Adam,I'm as happy as Larry, away every fortnight in the motorhome.its clocking up a lot more miles than the Vxr did.(and a lot cheaper to run,tax and insure).been all over this year and still got plenty more holidays booked...I will have to venture across the water soon as I'm running out of places to visit. Sorry for the off topic, just wanted to let Adam know I've no regrets in selling the car to put the money towards a motorhome.
