It's a pity the PC correct BBC didn't suspend employees (pending an investigation) who knew about Savilles escapades and said nothing. Smells of double standards to me.

Aaaamen to that brutha!Still find this funny as its true January 2011 - Indian diplomats complained about a 90-minute India special in which a car fitted with a toilet in its boot is described by Clarkson as "perfect for India because everyone who comes here gets the trots."

Yes, it's called the Ostrich syndrome (head is always buried in the ground), and, it's catching and quickly becomes an epidemic, effecting all they come into contact with . The only cure is prosecution followed by a long recovery stay in Wormwood Scrubs living with (not separate from) other inmates.

Depends on who witnessed it. Reality is 'suspended without pay, pending disciplinary investigation'. The outcome would surprising immaterial, but the process should still be followed. If I threw a punch at someone in work I would imagine I wouldn't be suspended I'd be dismissed on the spot!

Last I heard, Clarkson still owned a significant chunk of the TG production franchise. He isn't just an employee.
