It's a pity the PC correct BBC didn't suspend employees (pending an investigation) who knew about Savilles escapades and said nothing. Smells of double standards to me.

Correct & wasn't there an ex reknowned MP who presided over the BBC after the handing over of Hong Kong who allegedly knew nowt? Yeh, as if!

Replace all with VBH & that talented driver lady who took a Transit around Nurgburgring? And maybe RH as the little whipping boy?

Still find this funny as its true   January 2011 - Indian diplomats complained about a 90-minute India special in which a car fitted with a toilet in its boot is described by Clarkson as "perfect for India because everyone who comes here gets the trots."

Aaaamen to that brutha!

Yes, it's called the Ostrich syndrome (head is always buried in the ground), and, it's catching and quickly becomes an epidemic, effecting  all they come into contact with . The only cure is prosecution followed by a long recovery stay in Wormwood Scrubs living with (not separate from) other inmates.

What are the odds the rest of the series hasn't been finished on time or the rating have dropped so they are adding a bit of spice. Same thing with one of the previous christmas shows it was delayed because they hadn't finished it. If I threw a punch at someone in work I would imagine I wouldn't be suspended I'd be dismissed on the spot!

Depends on who witnessed it. Reality is 'suspended without pay, pending disciplinary investigation'. The outcome would surprising immaterial, but the process should still be followed.

Why do some people with too much money and "fame" have a chip on the shoulder that gets bigger and bigger, so the grasp on reality diminishes until they believe they are untouchable and can do exactly what they want with no consequences? Think this will be one he'll not escape from. If he smacked someone then that should be the end of the road. Suspect he'll return to ITV then

As Bernie and many others have illustrated, those with money and influence do, by by definition have power. Even power over you to give a damn...

I find it strange that the bbc have decided that clarkson is bigger than the program Why not just run it with somone new Or did clarkson have a clause built in to the contract when he sold his part of top gear back to the bbc?

Last I heard, Clarkson still owned a significant chunk of the TG production franchise. He isn't just an employee.
