...ALL Tubby drivers please note:
Lotus opted for a SUPERCHARGER not a TURBOCHARGER! However, they have tried not to alienate you Tubby obsessed guys by making it very LARDY instead!
...the debate is now over!
All SC drivers please note, Formula 1 the pinnacle of motorsport opted for a turbocharger not a superchrger

I know you're probably just doing it to get a rise out of folk, but I hate it when people use the "Formula 1 do/don't do this/that" argument. I remember when that fanny bawz Clarkson said that Formula 1 don't use ABS, so why should we use them in fancy sports cars... The only reason F1 does any of the things they do is because of the 8kg rule book they have to adhere to.

Formula 1 actually opted for both, the compressor side being electrically driven, so its a draw..

They don't use SC in the BTCC either, or the WTCC but they both use turbos. If fact do any current 'real' race series use them?

That's the Regs for you. Their engine's also cost a little more than a VX.
However, We are discussing LOTUS based cars boys. (The last time I looked I'm sure this was a VX Forum?) not BTCC/ F1 or another motorsport forum.

Lotus are just using the engine that is most available to them, and they have most experience of, and that's a supercharged Toyota engine. If Toyota produced a turbo V6, then it probably would have a turbo!
