Last week I had ABS light on and found no readings at the multi plug at the abs unit and the speedo was still working, found the rear right hub had a internal fault as could not get any readings ohms from the wiring, the left hub had broken wires at the hub. Out of interest after looking at various topics regarding speedo failures on this forum it seems the speedo works from the rear left hub, now the confusing part !! I unplugged the wiring on the rear left hub before I replaced it and had a drive and the speedo is working, so I spoke to member for his advice and he said the speedo works of the front left hub ???!!. I replaced both rear hubs and the abs light gone out and the speedo still works. FYI when I did a ohms test on the new hubs 1= 149ohms and other = 156ohms.

Appreciate what you are saying Pete, but both rear hubs have been replaced, and after seeing a couple of posts about people replacing a front hub and it being the cause of the issue, i thought id investigate that route. After all, the rears have been replaced, so may as well replace the fronts, then I know they are done, and maybe fix the issue with the speedo at the same time. Then if that does not work, I can spend some time looking at where else the issue may be. We shall see how we get on. Looking at the track day footage from last Monday, my speedo was working some of the time, and it seemed to be that it was after a braking zone, so shifting weight forwards. The main purpose of this post was to ask if there were any loom connectors that control the speedo that may have come loose/apart, that maybe causing the issue.

I never thought it was anything to do with the hubs, front or rear. When you have 2 faults come along at one time then 99.9% it is wiring/connectors. Your fault is EXACTLY the same as the fault I had on my turbo and that was wiring.

No probs, best of luck finding the fault.

Thanks. As you know, access to the wiring in the bay is a pain in the back side, and to be honest a clam off job to get proper access. As the front hubs would be done in the near future, i thought id get them replaced, and hope to fix the speedo at the same time. Obviously if that does not work, then il look into the wiring in more depth.

Well iv changed the front left hub/dearing assembly, and taken it out for a spin. Seems to have done the job, and the speedo is now working, though im not couting my chickens just yet, as only took it for a lap of the block up to 70mph. Had 30 seconds or so of bouncing around once i got to 70, but after that, all seemed well. Il take it for a longer spin when its dry and get some temp in everything, and see how it reacts. However, initial shake down seems positive.

Well, as predicted by numerous people, its has not fixed the speedo issue. The car seems to roll alot more freely though, which is nice, I just dont know what speed im doing, still.

Still open to suggestions regarding the issue. Seems to be something that jacking the LH side of the car up fixes for a short while, then its gone again.
