Yeah I know there's a lot of stigma around Cat cars but a lot is unjustified. I'd certainly steer clear of any car that had been re-bonded or welded as that could be potentially catastrophic.
However, a dent that has not fractured is a different story. Aluminium is a fairly malleable material and can withstand a reasonable amount of deformation without compromising its properties. If I thought there were any safety concerns with this car, I'd have broken it for parts. However, I'm confident that the nature of the damage and the quality of the repairs means that this is a safe car and a bargain for someone who can look beyond a Cat status. I've been driving it myself for the last month and its delivered nothing but smiles.
