Those are mega thin ones I made for Joe. There's no structure in those so need to be used with something like a ply sheet underneath.

Still got more structural strength than a Leon splitter. It's had a lot of sh*t piled on top of it in the garage for the last 3 years and hasn't flinched.

Of course it's down to price, don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that.
Bit steep for a splitter lol
And now we get down to the real reason.
It's why my genuine one is staying safe and sound in the garage (plus I definitely can't be arsed to fit it) and is not going to be lent out for somebody to make a knock off copy of it.
P.S. Here's a blast from the past for you Matt. Had forgotten all about it until this kicked off again and just had a dig through the garage. Never could work out a way to fit.
Is a genuine one a pita to fit then?

The genuine one bolts in with the undertray bolts. It needs bolts through with the number plate and then has a few self tappers into the clam round the front.

But to hear people sulking on here because they absolutely 100% definitely need a splitter and can't get one this instant, you'd think cost isn't a problem. It's German, it's (probably) over engineered in the grand scheme of things and it costs as a result. But there's just an assumption that a clone made over here will be much cheaper.Of course it's down to price, don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that.
If you want a cheaper alternative that is theoretically available now, try the Eltech clone in GRP or even CF. Or maybe even see if Mastersammy will move on the price of his.
No, my other genuine one has the alloy plate that you bolt through into the original front undertray fixing pointsIs a genuine one a pita to fit then?
The other one I've got (in the earlier picture) doesn't have the section that you'd normally bolt through as it was specifically made without to act like more of a gap filler between a pikey plywood splitter and the clam, I guess.

Yeah, it's basically the same as the Dempert but instead of the alloy plate, it's all GRP (or Carbon).
No idea on price, I don't frequent Fcukbook which is where he seems to advertise his wares. The guy behind it does have an account on here "Matteo21" I think.

Do you know if the eltech sticker is just on top (so can come off) or burried under the clearcoat?
