what the fcuk you lot on about... and who plays Forza... i dont even have an xbox!  :angry2:

and as for lees car..  steering wheel isn't even straight so driving it with any accuracy is just not happening, there is too much rear brake bias and the brake pedal feels fugly.. other than that.. it was good. i liked how compliant the suspension is, that's what has made me finally decide to go for the quantums.

Sticking with your current dampers I would go for 650lb rears with 275 or 300lb helpers, and 500lb fronts with 200 or 250lb helpers (I will ask Nitron tomorrow what the lb limit is on street series)   Other option is a set of single way Quantums or the new 'NTR40 Clubsport' dampers I am developing with Nitron.   Actually going to be looking to test the dampers on a couple of cars very soon..............

I'm interested in those ntr40 club sport, how much will they cost? Also like to know what is the maximum spring rate the street series can take. Thanks

It can only be good news that MBR & Nitron are fine tuning the Club sport's into a competitive track biased damper. More choice to the VX / lotus communities can only be a good thing!

Also, well done Matt & possibly Scuff's for putting their names to the development work!

Can you let us know what your goals are with the new dampers? What improved characteristics are you trying to achieve?

We are just developing the damper. When the ntr40 came out all those years ago it was the best thing available. But that was 10 years ago and some development / improvement is needed to compete with the performance the Quantum offers. If we manage that I will sell them along with quantums etc. If they don't I won't, and the same the other way, if they are better I will advise people to go for them

It might be the best all-round upgrade but it's very far from the cheapest upgrade.

So, what are you going to do captain? Fit harder springs or wait for the clubsport and upgrade to ntr40?

TBH - The first thing I did was to bid on a Caterham Mega Grad race car (150bhp, wide track suspension, 520kg, aero screen) but after Lady V hit the ceiling and asked where I would store it (and the associated tow car) I decided it was perhaps more sensible to spend money on the VX where I can hide fit the shiny parts underneath the car and accurately claim it was essential maintenance.... Fortunately for my marriage the Caterham didn't meet reserve (if anyone has a spare garage space near south Essex, I could be interested..)

Anyway, the current plan is to try harder springs on the NSS and some EP negative camber steering arms. The NSS can handle up to 600lb springs which I believe is pretty much on the margin of road usability anyway. I want to keep the road usability otherwise I may just as well get a 'track only' car and tow car...
