It's not a Milltek (the Milltek is a little more civilised and doesn't burble as much on the VXT), but you get an idea of what the VX engine sounds like with a little less silencing.

What DB does that Piper hit Jase?

I had the VXL sports back box fitted thru my insurance claim last month :D and must admit it has given the car the sound it deserves thumbsup , yeah no performance gains but you think your going faster  and got loads of comments from the MGF owners on the Alsace meet a couple of weeks back. And I can vouch that Iceman's car sounds even louder B) as I had to let him overtake the SLK on the Lux meet

You can't compare the NA to the VXT, they sound completely different. The Vxl sports exhaust also gives no extra power, a VXT Miltek adds up to 15-20bhp.

Jim Cross has a Hayward and Scott on his N/A and is very positive about it. Includes a100 cell cat.

I was thinking of contacting them about one for the VXT.

Yes but you also can't compare the NA Vauxhall (backbox)sports exhaust with the VXT Milltek and 15-20 out of a backbox (if comparing i guess you mean backbox only), surely not.

Depending on Turbo/Na ownership, your requirements perhaps differ!?
The turbo, being one mod up on the na,delivers more power gains from exhaust but less noise.
The power gains/sound rise with exhaust % changed.

Na.'s just make far more noise!!
For far less $$'s
Ok! less bhp but not much!

Depends what you want/have.
I like noise over speed...
I mean, 80 mph loud, beats 180 mph silent.
Of course, each to their own...ect!

Yep thumbsup I think it's great. It sounds more in the style of the Vauxhall Sports Exhaust camp than the Miltek camp due to the style of silencer it uses but it's a little quieter and liveable every day than the Vauxhall part IMO.

As Thorney says though, sounds files always sound a bit sh1t - need to hear in for real really.

WD -> no idea on the DB mate, sorry. I'd imagine a bit less than the Vaux version though.

..and I know the figures we got at the RR day at G-FOrce were a little spurious but if you take like for like comparisons on the wheel figures (no calculations involved) then mine with Piper exhaust, precat removed and Viper induction kit produced a fair bit more power than an NA with Viper only.

IMO insurance bods wouldn't know a modded exhaust if they saw one - most of the VX sports exhuasts don't look much different from the originals so unless you have a assesor who's really into the cars and knows his stuff.

Well they didn't spot my VSE or piper intake or ...

Not that I'm advising deception or the like with insurance companies

Should really have this topic seperate for NA and VXT's as alot of great opinions but I for one am struggling to keep track!!! Anyway just to add more confusion can I try and clear up opinions on a louder exhaust note for the NA: Most people feel the Vauxhall sports back box is similar to the Piper one being talked about but the Piper one is easier to live with due to it being quieter than the Vauxhall one - so in theory if you want an altogether sportier note for your NA then go for the Vauxhall backbox? However if you want power then either try the new Miltek range either back box and even better the full system?! In summary I dont have 1k to spend on a full Miltek system right now, but would like a sportier note for my NA - Vauxhall back box then?????? Sorry if I have added more confusion but there are a lot of good comments and opinions so just want to try and get to the conclusion! :) Cheers! Dave

remove the precat when you fit the vaux SE and you'll get great noise and some extra horses..
