I'd rather have an ejector seat than an airbag in most situations (ones that don't involve being upside down that is) :)

Finished and shipped the non shift light one, finished the original one for my friend and made one spare. It was interesting making these and great to get all the feedback here too.

Final version looks like this, no plans to make any more...

You can see the large shift lights recessed on the top bar and a tiny led right in the middle of the top section to indicate buttons are transmitting.

Overall I'm pleased with the look, and given the functionality, keeping the price at £100 was quite an achievement. I still have the prototype with buttons only, maybe should do a Christmas giveaway with that :)

To keep the air bag something like this would be needed: https://www.google.c...hlGSY7MltkwQWM:

The first mould I made was based on that exact wheel, but the outside size of the VX momo wheel pushes the buttons too close to the edges and could catch your fingers on the way around, that coupled with the large centre made it look awkward and unwieldy. Also there would be nowhere to contain the electronics to make it wireless so you're back to having wires around the wheel.

I really love this. If i could modified the steering wheel to be a bit more flat on the underside it be perfect. Br, Per

I mean I could stan with OEM steering wheel if I had this carbon center piece and the steering wheel was more flat in the bottom. And some suede on it. ☺
