Its clear the direction that public opinion is going. It has just not quite reached breaking point yet, but probably will have by the next election. This is just putting off a problem which is being ignored and is getting worse, and by the time the next election comes round perhaps the Dutch will be so cheesed off that they will vote for a real right wing nutter.   I wouldn't write off Le Pen. All the (main stream media) polls told us vote leave and trump wouldn't win too.

:yeahthat: This is one of the big bonuses of Brexit for me, as least we have a proper party and government running the show instead of ukip et el. People will say that ukip would never have won but people also laughed at Trump and look how that turned out. Like it or not there is a right wing movement going on and we have to deal with it or suffer the consequences.

Malta is similar , it would be foolish to ignore the history.

There are quite a few micro-states that have special arrangements, since the EU was never setup with the costs of membership to work at this level, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican City.

Well, apparently Spain has been offered a veto over the issue.  Can't see them missing that opportunity to screw us over.  Different attitude when it comes to Perejil though.

So far, as the polls predicted, Macron followed by Le Pen.  Nothing is certain but looks like Macron for President, which means we will get regular doses of the rather lovely Mme Macron!

No concerns on the hard border in NI then?

Turkeys voting for christmas comes to mind.

Going to guess DUP voting, flute band loving, bowler hat wearing, loyalist union man. Just in case anyone doesn't get the nuances here.
