Nankang NS-2R's here, no issues :-)

Any chance you've been on track with them?

Yup. Not as grippy as 888's but they last longer before going off. They feel good and give confidence 👍 For the price you can't knock them imho. Yes there are better but they're all twice the price.

Federal only avalible in 205 on 16 from what I've seen. Got yokos fitted now and grip really well. Still very new so will see how they go on.

Put off by the delamination thing on the tread so never considered them.

If you mean the crack that runs across the tread, doesn't affect it in anyway, never has done for me anyway and I've ran two full sets down at Cadwell, each tyre has done in but never caused a problem.

Oh well. Hopefully we'll meet up on a track at some point. It'll be interesting to see how the ns2's perform. FYI I've worn through at least 2 full sets of the rsr's and never had any issue with delamination.

I mainly do cadwell it's about 20mins from my door. 👍 If I get time I may venture further afield but it will be a busy year for me this year so trackdays may take a bit of a back seat 😭

Anyone using the car daily considered something like these?

http://www.tyrerevie...price/195-50-16

I know, I know winter tyres,

I have had them on sheds and beaters that I have ragged around locally and not found winter tyres to be much less grippy plus good for grip when it is cold.

These are XL so could be suitable for the VX with the stiffer side walls.

Everything you do to the car (modding) and with it (driving) is communicated both ways through the tyres. You cannot by-pass the tyres and yet in the grand scheme of things they aren't too expensive and last usually a year or two. I really wouldn't scrimp on them....if you can possibly afford to, of course. I use Toyo R1Rs on the road and Yoko AO48 on the track. Both are immense. Toys have stacks of grip in nearly all conditions on road and give great feedback still. I'm not sure of the sizes though. I use 16" fronts

This.

I ordered them on the German online tyre places making them super-cheap!!

Agree that they're great on track but no so strong on cold days on the road where you don't get the chance to warm them up

The load rating has no bearing on sidewall stiffness.

Hi Danger,   Another Derby owner...   Anyway my advise would be to be wary of some of the less well known Yoko's, I had some Yoko tyres that were supposedly summer tires - they had very little grip.   AD08 are a great road and track tyre, the R version is getting good reviews.    I have been searching for the holy grail of cheap tyre with awesome grip but it has not worked out. I suspect I will be trying AD08R next time.   Kindly, Paul

Just had a full set of ad08r fitted as my 6 year old ad08's had gone off. What can I say but wow, even in the cold on moist roads the grip is amazing. Hard acceleration sees no rear movement.after lots of deliberation and research I've definitely made the right decision roll on summer 👍

I've had 595 RSR and the AD08R are a big leap ahead in cooler and damp conditions.

On my m3 I had ad08's on the front and RSR's on the rear. The ad08's were definitely better in the rain/wet and wore much better. But when warm the RSR's were stickier. To be fair though, neither were a patch on eagle f1 asymmetric's for general road use.
