Cheers fella, have actually really enjoyed it. It's been half term here so had a week and big enough garage. Put some tunes on and just pottered away at it, no pressure to put it all together and working to my own deadline.

Took a hell of a lot of photos on the way through and printed off the suspension diagrams from elsewhere on the forum so I didn't lose sight of where things came from.

Also have to say though that - in amongst a hell of a lot of forum bickering at the moment - .org came up trumps, read a lot of project threads first and Batman in particular has been an absolute hero lending me a press and answering dozens of inane questions (including telling me it was a write off!)

Gave the wheel arches a proper clean up today ready for the wishbones and hubs to come back from the powder coaters. They needed it.

Sadly the existing billies are going back on so tidied up the springs as best as I could and have them a coat of hammerite. One was particularly messy for some reason.

James - what did you use to clean the chassis area with?  Mine needs a good bit of work doing too.

I used Autosol metal polish to finish it but prior to that the scouring pad from the kitchen. Which apparently was brand new and now I have to replace - some people just don't appreciate craftsmanship

Managed to squeeze in an afternoon having done enough domestic stuff at the weekend to sneak off to the garage. Front left is done, just waiting on bigger discs, lost in the post at the moment.

Took it for its first drive - somewhat nervously. Typically it began to rain as I took it out and the first wet roundabout was hilarious/terrifying depending upon which side of the car you're sat in.

Booked in to have a full Geo, brake fluid change to 5.1 next week.

Sadly I'm beginning to run out of things to do on it

Awesome, I love seeing an old machine gradually getting trigger broomed. If I make it to be an old man I'm sure there will be some nice VX220s around. I will try and make sure there is at least one ;) if I don't fall out of love with it that is.

Then you should be able to find time to sort that fence out then 😂
