you forgot to mention that the new engine had a pair of genuine chains fitted before it was fitted.

Soooo....

Gave them a quick home refurb. As they are very much the back up alloys I thought I'd give it a go.

Halfords White at the back, silver on the front and a lacquer finish due to go on later this evening. In truth I could have sanded them down to a far better level, but time was against me as they are booked in to have new boots fitted to them tomorrow and I need to get them over to the garage in the morning.

Still not come up too badly.

Bit of an update. The next stage in the complete refurb and emptying of my bank account is a suspension refresh. So got her up on axle stands - by far and away the scariest thing I have done with a VX - and stripped off the wheels

Toe link arms - 2Cm longer than standard from eliseparts

four new hubs

 

Took a couple of days and fair few texts to The Batman and NPC but got there in the end

Getting ball joints and bushes out was fun but got them all out with a mix of technique and brute force.

Whole lot is now off to be shot blasted and powder coated. Hoping to get it back on the road for end of March.
